If D3 has druids...

It should certainly be amazing.
Grab me some jerky, some tea, bring my girlfriend Mary J., and head out to the new druid frontier.
Find glory where many find walls! Push the limits and discover the first builds! Reading the newest druid guides, item threads, and all that chitter chatter of O.T. nonsense! Chuggin bears with your grandpa! Throwing claws at zombies! Saving the young maidens! And gosh darnit, somehow creating a Cruel Mythical Sword of Quickness! A beautiful, rare, magical sword! While others dance with their trendy elites... We'll sing with our blue treats!

That would be sweet, I'm more interested if they're gonna have a shapeshifting class... that would be really awesome to see where they go with that (as long as they don't go all WoW and have WereCats or something stupid lol)

'cause, as we all know, Cats > Bears :***(

Well they have announced the barb/witch dr. There has to be a sorc type and amazon type character(elemental/ranged). With only 5 classes in the game 4 taken up I could see a 'holy' type pally type character in there to balance out the witch dr. So yes I also can see d3 having no druid.

i see how there may not be a druid.
but then again, what makes a druid?
Is one not a druid because they cant shapeshift?
Is one not a druid because they cant summon any pets?
Is one not a druid because they already are a witch doctor?
We're druids in our hearts!

So they may not have any druids in the game, but that doesnt mean there wont be any playing the game!

someone even told me decard cain and tyrael were even druids. but that was back in 1.07 and they dont talk about that no more.

yeah I'll be sad it there aren't any druids, for sure

but ppl are making sound logical assessments it's prolly gonna be: barb, WitchD, Holy class, ranger, wizard/mage

that's IF it's only 5, I'm hoping for 6-8

I figure most shifter-type druids will be drawn to the barb, since that's the closest thing right now to the visceral in-your-face combat that WW/WBs thrive on

on a side note, the chick with the furs holding the snake "looks" like a druidess, but she could easily be an NPC (but it's got me hoping)

and did anyone else notice they took down the "art" movie? I was cursing cause I only downloaded the demo vid

It's stated somewhere there is only going to be 5 classes when its released, thats not to say there wont be more later on.

Like in D2, pretty sure Druid will be expansion character. The popularity and loyalty of druids in D2/WoW is something Blizz wont miss.

So we have to start with other classes and when expansion hits, we'll bring our GF Mary J and enjoy the ride....

I think there will be no sorcs.
Look, the witch doctor could be called a necro witch have elemental atack (fire). So I believe that the other two elementals (cold and lit) will be distributed to another two classes.
Maybe a druid who crushes his enemies with power from the sky (lit atacks)?

Whoa... no sorcs? No magic using type of character? That's pretty radical! I'm guessing that the other posters are mostly correct and that the initial five classes would look something like barb, witch doc, pally like creature, sorc (or magic user of some sort) and some sort of amazonish like character. Both the assassin and druid were expansion characters in Diablo 2 and they might stay consistant with that idea.

The witch doctor is too similar to the necromancer for them to have both. Both summon minions, have AI altering spells. Wall of undead instead of wall of bones. Simply add the element of fire and voila! Convert Necro to Witch doctor! (I think Mahamutt is right in this regard).

Of course, all this is pure speculation. We'll need to send in a 'sleeper' into the development team at Blizzard to really get answers. :)

(sigh) So not only will I have to wait for Diablo 3 to come out, I'll probably have to wait extra for the 'diablo 3 expansion characters' to come out since I happen to really, really like druids. Ah well... I can always just play D2 for now.
