Idea for Sorc-uber runner

would it be viable to make a sorc that has infinity merc (and maybe LR charges on hand) to take on the ubers? I read that they all have high resistances, which makes it useless for a sorc.... but i also believe that they aren't immune. therefore, conviction and lower res will negate a lot of that resistance, won't it? or maybe team up with a pally that has maxed conviction?

Not possible your merc will die in a matter of seconds.

You want to kill the ubers make a smiter. Sorcs cant solo the ubers and if they could we wouldnt call them ubers.

yes sorcs can't handle ubers, same goes for amazons, barbs, pallys are the only ppl i know who can actaully handle them.

Does not matter sorc will still be useless. Just stop....stop...please its not gonna work no matter who you team up with. Your going to die very fast and do very little damage evn with conviction.

You need a reliable tank in uber trist. Smiter or frenzy barb are v.good since they can abuse lifetap so when they lose hp they regain it instantly.

You can't rely on merc there because they do almost nothing to ubers and get killed in 2 hits. As support char sorc can do dmg mostly to baal and diablo (with static), but meph is very resistant to elements and his conviction aura brings res easily down to -100 which is instant kill for non-es builds.

They say kickers can do it too, and there was some talk about fury druid. Finally, there is the summon necro. However, I would like to see a sorc doing it, although I doubt it's possible...... Maybe a melee sorc with high CB, lol.

Several people (including myself) are doing Trist quite easily with Frenzybarbs. And I know of it having been done with a summon necro. I'll agree on the no go for Sorcs.

I see a very skilled/ highly equipped blizz sorc doing it. Meph is tough, sure, but get those resists stacked and some absorb he becomes less threatening.

Use tele to your advantage as much as possible. Use it to keep your merc alive(you only want him for conviction) and to avoid meph's casts. However, be sure to stay within range of him or he'll start raising minions like mad.

Baal will be your next biggest threat because of his minions. Im not quite sure if conviction will lower the venom lord's resists enough to break the cold immunity...maybe a lower resist wand will help this. If all this fails, just keep your merc alive and kill off baal, let merc finish off the quad-resistant baddies. BTW conviction will break their light resist, so static away.

Diablo is a panzy. If you've come far enough to kill off the other two, the rest is a piece of cake.

Don't let the rest of these guys discourage you. With enough preparation you could do it with a sorc. Your equipment needs would be unreachable for many, but again, it IS possible.

They are called immune to all pit lords for a reason. Their resist is 145 from AS, if I recall correctly. That is just outside the range of 150% conviction + 75% LR (I think it actually goes only to 74, but I think the limit as +skill goes to infinity is 75%). That is just enough to cancel 45% of their resistance. I think they did this on purpose too......

True. Barbs can also handle tristram easily without expensive equip. CB is the key.
The problem is that a sorc has:
1/ No tank such as a summoner, which means monsters will come after you quick.
2/ Not enough defense/block (in general), since you will have to sacrifice that for damage if you are going to hurt them.
3/ No leech, combined with the both above you will have to stack up on full rejuvs in dozens, just to survive. Killing them all is even harder.

Arent those pit lords in tristram immune to anything except physical damage? Dont know how much conv. will break from them, but I assume they will be hard to wipe out, and they arent really to ignore if you dont have any lifesteal...
