Hammerdin Heart of the Oak

I know a lot of people suggest using a wizardspike as the main Hammerdin weapon, also one of the wands is often suggested. How does anyone think having a heart of the oak would work?

It has 40% faster cast, some resists, and it has a few other mods. I was just wondering what some more experienced hammerdin's might say.

I belive wizardspike is used by many simply because it's so common find, personally I use heart of the oak and it beats any other weapon hands down for a hammerdin.

Advantages for wizzy are basically +10% fcr and more resists, but 3 skills in hoto makes up for that real well.

It's really a personal choice, if you can't hit 70FCR without wizardzpike, then go wizardspike because with a faster cast rate=more hammers=more damage. But really in the end its because hoto is so much more expensive and harder to find.

You mean 75%fcr

From personal experience i can say that Heart of Oak is the shiznit... I just switched from Wiz after FINALLY getting a vex rune (on ladder). My damage jumped from about 4500 per hammer to 7000 per hammer. I was also lucky enought to get +39 resists on my Heart, which is 1 off perfect. Obviously the switch from Wiz can leave your resists a bit low, so factor this into your build.

Make sure you can still hit 75fcr, which I did with aracnid mesh (20%) + fcr rare ammy (10%). There are HEAPS of fcr options, like magefist, rare rings, ammys and circlets, lidless, so I'd definitely say go the Heart!!

My build:
Shako /p.topaz
Skulders /p.topaz
nagel for mf
rare ring with good resists
Rare ammy, +1 pally skillz, resists, fcr
chance guards
Rhyme (lidless if required) in an aerin shield that had +20 res base, now has +50 resists
Heart of Oak
Naj Puzzler on switch for teleport
