Grief PB?

Grief PB?

Most Griefs are used by pally's using smite or charge right?

and most griefs are put in phase blades? Are you supposed to put in 136 dexterity as part of your build? Do you really need that much for block? Or how is this obtained, as in, how would you get the dex needed to use a grief phase blade?

You would use Anni and Torch and other +stats items to help you reach the dex req. Pretty much all Pals have max block anyways, so the dex req isn't much of a factor.

IMO Anni/Torch+Raven will give 50+ dex so that you can easily obtain 136 with some other gears like storm treks(+10-15 dex) or another raven with a relatively low base dex.

I built my pally just a bit askewed but am still happy.

I have 118 into base str and 136 into base dex for my Grief.

I have to say that I did lose a lot in my base Vit with only 2200 life with BO from my CTA..but I still have no problems with the Ubers at all.

I may rebuild him though as I found a beautiful weapon....a +3 eth Heaven's Light (2 OS) with 300% ED. Thing does like 314 top damage. Zod/Shaeled with a Highlords its as deadly (almost as fast) as a Grief. And its got 33% Crushing blow.... love this thing!

I also went from a Fortitude to a CoH...lost 500 defense base overall in armor but gained +2 skills...almost evens out. I haven't seen much of a difference between 16K def with Holy Sheild to 20-21K (with fort) with Holy Sheild overall...at least for Ubers. I'm not pvp at all.


If you go with Grief...don't go with base 136 dex. Get up there with items. Thats what I'm doing next.

I only had 60 base dex and 85 str for my pure smiter with grief PB. The rest went into vit of course and he had 4.1k life with BO.

And I'm running the ubers with no bo whatsoever, 1.6k and never have problems. Eth heaven's light,zoded would actually be decent for zeal but it won't offer a thing to your smite,it is inferior to grief from all aspects. If you use it,do it for the style.

kingdryland ...while you're right that the Heaven's Light doesn't add anything directly to Smite....it does actually add something... +3 to all skills so Smite and all the synergy's are up'ed by 3.

It is slower than Grief but you're right on...its style. With Highlords for the IAS its not that much slower...at least from what I can see. But I'm a noob when it comes to pally's...just learning.

I've got level 35 fanat... 37% IAS
40% on the HL ...zod/shael
20% on the Highlords

Soo...97%...not sure where that fits on the scale.

For Ubers...the HL perfect because I only have the CB from Goreriders as I'm wearing a CoA and not Guillame's. I smite 90% of the time and hit 'em with the Heaven's Light quick for about 4-5 seconds and the 33% CB brings 'em down pretty fast.

When I said that heaven's doesn't offer a thing to smite, I meant the eth version compared to non eth one. An ethereal requires zod ,it doesn't offer anything and makes you need more ias from gear.

Gotcha. Just did another run and tanked all 3 ubers in the middle of Tristram. Man I love these pallys!
