Pepper is now a Destroyer, after an uneventful finish of Act 5. With the rapid leveling, I maxed Meteor, then switched back to building Fireball. Meteor continues to rack up many one-hit kills. Its damage range is very consistent, so I was able to memorize which monster types required one shot, and which required a second meteor. Some types need 1 meteor plus "a little bit". For them, a hip-shot fireball, while the meteor was descending, provided an effective left-right combo. First a quick stun to keep them in place, then a knockout blow.
Drops were not friendly. I found a couple useless repeat greens along the way, no help at all. Baal's drop looked
pretty, but was yet another failure in Pepper's long miserable saga of MF woe. The gold trident was only the second unique she found, after p8 full-clearing all of Normal. :undecided:
I got my favorite cow entrance map, tucked safely in the corner of a nice
inlet. Not that I needed it, Meteors did a fantastic job of roasting the cows. No worries.
Faced with a poor selection of socket-quest choices (and an even poorer selection of green jewels), I went with the only option that offered at least minimal potential long-term impact: I socketed Mil's shield with a paltry
MF jool. That gave me a 20% MF improvement!
Clearly I need every bit of help I can get.
Pepper finished the Den of Evil quest, made use of a nifty
triple XP station, and ventured underground again to slay the mighty Coldcrow. (To her credit, Ms. Frosty managed to score one last Multi-shot into
Pepper's face.)
Stats: Level 49, Str 62, Dex 49, Vit 158 (401 life), Energy 55 (173 mana, I placed a lot of early points into Energy). Resists: 25/30/1/-10.
