Grail, Astreon's and Tyrael's left - Baal or Pindle?

Yeah Fabian I agree on most points. My thoughts process was mostly that someone who is at grail -2 might have resources to build pit zerker. Anyway... it's discussion for another day. And I was saying pindle zerker is easy to play. Not pit zerker. That still requires more focus and being unable to watch anything in background isn't too appealing for me.

This is my blizzard sorc. Gear is listed and you will get general idea how she works. Idea is to have 65 fcr, enough survivability to operate safely and rest into MF. Entire thread is nice read and has many good magic find characters.

816MF/20fcr doesn't seem too balanced. I'd change her for sure. As for Corrupted's (?) video, I'm fairly sure his gear is following: Shako (ptopaz), Tal's Armor (ptopaz), Tal's Amulet, Tal's Belt, 35 fcr Spirit Monarch, Death's Fathom (Ist), 2 x 30MF Nagelrings, 50MF War Travelers and inventory filled with MF charms (cube + 40 gheed + 33 x 7 MF small charms). That would total 663 MF if all charms are perfect, but he probably has some MF/resist with non perfect MF or something. It's well rounded 105fcr setup that has enough damage and is very safe to operate in AT. I'd aim for something like this when building your sorc. Very nice cost/effective setup. It should shave some seconds off your run times. Also if you are playing on higher settings you might consider lowering it a bit. Since you are at grail -2 you have Death's Fathom and you should use it. Try gearing her like that and see how you like it. AT is a bit clustered area so I prefer 65 fcr cause it allows me to have more control over my character. It's personal preference, nothing more. 65fcr and 105fcr setups are both viable and good. CtA and Spirit on switch to buff yourself just like on that video. Going into act 1 is faster than walking all the way to waypoint in act 2. Just copy that technique in video you linked.

And if you aren't already doing it, focus only on bosspacks. On lower player settings other monsters just aren't worth killing cause they drop very little. If you can, try recording video so people might give you advices where and how to improve :)

Mission Astreon - just have done it.

Only Tyrael's left :) I guess it will take me about 6months, it took some time from -2 (the cranium basher on 13.10.2012) to -1 (now)...

Wow you actually found an item you were seeking? That's like finding a needle in a stack of needles, congrats. Also, Tyrael's doesn't exist.

U mean it's so rare that actually it doesn't exist? my friend playing on private realm found 2 of them within half a year :)

Recently I found an unique sacred armor from a boss in AT, the feeling when I was identifying it was indescribable... Templar's, unfortunately.

Try to look at it like this: the amount of time it is going to take you to find this item has already been set, and every run you make takes you one step further toward that goal.

Of course, it could be a REALLY long time until that sucker drops. Good luck!

As I'm only Tyrael's left for my grail quest, I have a request, but only for people, who have ever found a Tyrael's:

where have you found your Tyrael's?

it'll be nice of you to say how many runs u did etc., as I'm wondering if to change a place of running. Currently I'm after ~3k AT runs with dw, astreon's, 2 griffons, coa, lash, zod, 2xLo, ohm, dancers, bane ash (hell ofc) and 2 templars, couple of others as 19abs wisp and 15cd nw (if it's of any useful info to you, at runners :)).

No normal monster in the game can ever drop it; it MUST be champion, unique, minion or boss monster, as no normal monster has a monster level of 87+ anymore.

I've found one in AT with a Blizzsorc and one in Pit with my Berserk Barbarian. I have no idea how many runs I've done, but more than most probably. I've played SP for a long time.

As for where to run, well, if you're getting sick of AT (which is understandable if you've ran it a lot), switching to another character in the Pit is probably a wise choice. There are a number of characters that are good to very good Pit runners (from best to worst, roughly: Berserker, WW Barb, Light Sorc/Poison Necro/Javelin Zon), and it sounds like you have decent enough item wealth to put something together.

A blizzsorc in AT is definitely one of the better choices to run forever and ever if your goal is to find Tyrael's. It's a good character/area. A Concentration Barb in AT is another good option.

Outside of AT and Pit, there probably aren't any very good options. Certainly not without considerable effort.

For efficiency I would think that a pit zerker is going to be your best option, Fabian has a great one obviously but his gear (correct me if I'm wrong) requires time travel etc. I think Kestegs has one with basic equipment? Could be worth PMing him.

I have a very efficient pit zerker in all 1.13 gear. If people are interested, I can post his setup. He's at 105 fcr, 751mf on kill, 664 (I think this is right, I'm at work so can't check) on switch, and has had some pretty excellent luck in the pit.

I'd be interested for sure, especially to see how (although I guess it would have to wait for an MFO, plus willing participation) efficiency differs between different set ups. How fragile is yours? I've heard a few people say they're fragile, but so long as experience isn't required, I assume they aren't too fragile.

You can always add more Vita of course, Kitteh. That does quite a lot on a Barb with a decent BO level. You can pretty much choose how fragile you want your Berserker to be with the Strength vs Vita tradeoff, but of course a less fragile Barb will also do less damage.

And yeah time traveling is definitely not a requirement for a Berserker. Daz is using the standard 1.13 setup that's totally fine and very strong (Cham Shako, 2/FCR/MF amulet, Enigma, Grief, 6Ist PB, Nagelring, Nagelring, Chance Guards, Goldwrap, War Traveler, 90-100 FCR on switch (some combination of hoto/wizardspike/suicide branch, enough to get to 105 with the FCR from the amulet)).

The only normal time travel change would be to Cham a 1.07 Shako instead. The other time travel stuff I have is pretty unrealistic.

I just got home, so here's what I use:

Grief Pb
6x ist Pb
Enigma mage plate
Shako "cham"
40 Chancies
Goldwrap
49 War Traveller
2/10/16mf amulet
nagel/nagel

774/654 mf on kill/swap

Merc gear is mostly irrelevant imo, so mine uses forti/vamp/insight.

As Fabian mentioned, he's quite fragile, as I put a lot into strength. If you get your hands on fine scs of good luck/fortune, then you sacrifice str for more hp. As it is, my barb is only meant for the pit. If I want to level him, I'll use a different build and gear, so all I care about is MF, and <7mf scs aren't useful to me

As far as the whole strength/vitality thing, my experience is that only those relatively unavoidable sources of huge elemental damage (e.g. CE/LE) are even worth mentioning as threats, and those seem to become very reasonable to deal with at around 2000+ HP. Kind of curious what others think of as the "optimal" life total. (SC, of course. I'd go full vitality in HC 100% of the time.)

(Also, you all suck. 570 MF only. :( /poverty)
