i totally agree i mean if you suck so bad at the game why even bother... i figure you suck or your too lazy to do it by yourself... but you know that if they are using backdoors there is this little thing. most backdoor proggy have gee imagine for a moment backdoors so hopefully it will turn around and bite them in the arse... lol what a thought poetic justice...

Same here, got hacked between Dec 18-20... On east... I'm not nor will ever ask for free items... I'm the guy who helps out but never asks for help... but anyways sorry for the loss as well.
Don't download any 3rd party sh*t, nor do I frequent shady sites, nor do I cheat. Funny that 2 sojs were gone but one remained as well as a dual leech prizzy ring... the only things of true value were my uniques (arach, occy, mara) runes and runewords---just made a hoto too
... all missing. I even have a 10 digit numerical/alphabetical pw soooo... and I am on a Mac... and my pw isn't the same as my email... although my email is registered for both here and bnet... but that's it.Who knows, I'd love to still play but I don't know I can be assured of security for such and old game with very little support.
well, i poster before about my loses but since i see its still going on, i can tell u this, that i been playing for well since the game came out not the exp pack, you know when spear WW barbs were bad *** and silks was the best item...
and there has never been a decent amout of securty or cleaning to any of the servers, and esspecially now since there is no more orginal diablo creators still with blizz they dont care, AND on top of the world of warcraft has there attention, so i wouldnt be surpised if there were hackers just useing code from ingame typeing to get ur password, i mean simple stuff now... though dont know how simple that is but easyer for them....
so the hacking is going to continue and probly just get worse, but at least u know there the big losers that are probly selling it for 1$ on ebay...

This is the kind of stuff that brings down games like Diablo. I have been playing loyally since 1.07 and have loved every minute of my play. Then when 1.10 hit it was like every other player on the realms was a bot. Any chat screen was filled to the brim with 40 bots and maybe 5 actual people, and this all started when lazy players decided it was just easier to spend ACTUAL money on pixels than to do it the honest way (by playing or trading). That was the beginning and these Sophomoric Hackers are just the new mouse turd in our chocolate chip cookies. It's obvious to me and I'm sure many others, that Blizz dosen't care about D2 any more, and really haven't since warcraft 3 and the eventual WOW, and why should they. I mean we are the people that will devote time and hard earned dollars (I've had to by 4 copies of my battle chest) into the game, but they give the online experience away for free. When people are willing to pay a monthly subscription for WOW, why would blizz look twice at the freebie they give us.

I lost all my items in january 2006. I was building a barbarian for euro-pvp and was gonna spend all items I had on him, determined to make one of the top legit barbs on the realm. I had the best known barbarian diadem on the realm (legit, of course), a 415% eth botd zerker, a 413% eth botd great poleaxe, a 15/775 enigma, 3/xx/20 life legit sc's, 3/xx/5 rw legit sc's, and so on with basically everything else being perfect, but I got ripped of it all during the leveling procedure. I never got to play him.
I'm still bitter.

After reading all this, I thought about changing my PW once a week. Just in case someone snuck in, took a look around and decided to lurk.
I dont trade much, I dont m/h, I dont post on any other D2 board, I dont tell anyone or show em what I got, I dont look at dodgy sites... *ahem* d2 thingy-ma-ho dot net *ahem* ... If someone asks me to type something, I refuse... but I am still nervous about getting hit.
I am just waiting to go to my acct and seeing all my dudes stripped bare.

Heh. Did that today! Well, they took all the "good stuff".
There's a reason why I've quit this game about 5 times since release...
Whoa :shocked: I haven't been around here in a LONG time, and I'm saddened to see what's going on.
I just lost literally 6 years worth of stuff on my accounts too, but I wan't hacked. I just forgot to do my periodic refresh in time to avoid expiration, so all of my NL and 90% of my ladder stuff is gone.
I don't really mind, though. It was time to let go. But I'm sorry to see people doing the same because of bnet being such a cesspool, but I guess it always was.

bleeh .. always a "downer" 2 hear ppl quit'ing, as other'sare haxxoring their acc.'s, but, take heart in this : WoW if by FAR a newer game, and they got the same "issues", if not worse .. no wonder most of the "decent" fellah's of Blizz North LEFT, when they got bought by that other company ( i keep forgetting their name ) .. .. hopefully, u'll get back 2 play, Rykuss, and remember, don't keep ALL u'r eggs in one basket .. ..
