I feel his pain! Rykuss if you read this but I guess it won't matter much; don't blame you at all for being angry.

I really don't know what to say.

I am changing the way my family and I use the internet.

Right now no one is allowed to go online without my approval. I am running virus checks daily or anytime someone has been on line. I was using limewire again the other day and I may have gotten another virus from them. I am not 100% consistant but am trying to set up way to check each website my family uses and see if where the viruses are coming from. I also turn off teh cable box maot of the time; trying to get into a good habit here.

Certaintly something is going on. I am not playing much now and will wait for awhile until I do, if ever.
 
I don't know if it's the case with the OP but I suspect that many old timers and veterans alike keep on playing because they have accumulated a certain wealth that allows them to do as they please and try fun and different stuff. Those goodies have been gathered through out hours and hours of playing and would probably need an equivalent in playing time were they ever to be lost which might seem not too appealing for many players.

At least I know it was my case. Just before I stopped playing, I had a pretty good war bounty that was beefed up by nearly seven years of gaming. Even though my playing time had become pretty low I was still trying stuff just for the heck of it since I had the mean. It was obvious to me that my interest and playing time then would never gather me such a bounty and I wouldn't have had the guts and spirit to start from scratch.
 
Omg Billy.... you were one of the nicest friends I've ever met and known on the realms... I'm really sorry you had this happen to you. I've just recontinued playing around 2 weeks ago after a 2 month break at the end of summmer -> Mid October. I was really looking forward to getting in touch with you too. Whether or not you return to D2, please stay in contact with us!

I came here with intention of making my own post about being "hacked" but i'll just hop on this one.

I had uninstalled Diablo II for about two months when I logged in on a friends computer. I uninstalled during late July and logged in early October. Someone acessed my accounted during the 18th of September, it tells you when you log in (Last login: September 18th 12:00). Right in the middle of me not playing. They took all my expensive gear. Weapons, torches, occy, other things. Can't even remember it's been so long. They left the rest.

I work in IT and I have a VERY secure machine with a very long password. I don't download random programs, I don't share passwords EXCEPT on this site. My RPG traders account had the same password as my D2 account. When I stopped playing I remember some controversy over the RPG traders accounts and hacking. I'll add fuel to that fire along with the fact that this account was on West.

Welp, I'm not that affected. Would have really sucked if I was still playing.

You should take some time to collect yourself and then start a petition or something to have Blizzard investigate whats happening on USWest. That way, at least there might be a positive outcome to all of this.

If this is happening to so many players then obviously there is some major weakness that is being exploited or an e-z password hack has been created and is being used on West.

What I mean is, this is our game, the players, not the hackers, and we need to force Blizzard to do something. If we can gather enough support, hopefully they will listen.

this is a good point..perhaps you can petition to blizz..and they can look into your account..and verify that you've never used any third party progs...(which they do every few months..hence those mass bannings...)...in anycase that way they might also reset your account for you..and mainly won't leave you with such bad memories....

im really sorry to hear this billy....if you want id be happy to donate some items so you can start up again (if you choose too)...since i hardly every play...(Granted im probably the ungodliest old timer in the wtf-ot...lol...but my offer stands =P...and if charity is too much they we'll just call it an indefinate loan...lol...)

Billy, sorry to read what happened man. You don't have to play this game to stay in this community. Heck, I stopped playing few months ago and I'm still hanging around. BTW, I believe I still have some stuff to get you back on your feet. Check you PM. :thumbsup:

What's the damage output on those? The keys didn't look ethereal from the screenie. You're missing out on some real damage potential there...

Also, do they reach the last WW breakpoint?? Do Barbs have a Key Mastery skill?? What range are they? Are they a swinging or thrusting weapon??!?!
