Just a quick update as I finished normal. Baal was no problem, he did take about 5 minutes though because it was at players 6 but he didn't even get near me. No real problem in Act V at all, no NPE's at least. Baal did drop a pretty shiny gold item....too bad it was Venomward. I think that I'll go straight into Nightmare and not dwell in Normal. I still have a abundance of skill points that I have not invested into anything yet, 14 at the moment. I really don't need them yet so I think I'll just save them. I think the thing that is going to get me in nightmare is resistances combined with very low health.

Nothing too exciting, simply moving through the first act with my gemmed hunter bow :rolleyes: Those lightning spitting boss packs are giving me a headache, encountered three different ones on level 3 already. Getting tired so need to take a break before I do something I will regret.

Just a minor update for me, but I go up the table two places! I'm at clvl 27, one more level until I get Sander's Taboo Gloves with 20 ias and +40 life, and three more levels untl FA, Valk, LF & Pierce.

Currently I'm the highest level but only in 3rd place as far as dex goes. I'm going to assume that I'm wearing more survial gear the everyone else and that I will live longer then you fools! die now kkthx~! :wink3:

Andy wasn't too tough, though I fought her on /p1.

I was dreading the NM Maggot Layer very much, especially after the horrible time I had in the Norm Maggot Layer, but actually it went fairly well and much quicker then my trip down there in norm!

Unfortunatly, Kill-Zone did not go down in the Epic battle that I was hoping. Instead, she went down because of my own cockiness. I put it on player one for meph, because, although I probably could have killed him on both Player one and eight, I hate fighting for 15 minutes for crappy drops.

Anyway, I went up to him, and since I destroyed all the rest of the guys without a problem, I wasn't really expecting much from him. So I went close to him, and waited for my mercenary to come in.

Almost off the screen he lightning orbs me, and as I was to busy watching my mercenary walking up as slow as he could go, It was to late. One hit and I was a goner. Good luck to the rest of you, and I wait for the next tournament.

Duriel was easier than I expected, but he wasn't exactly easy. My merc could tank him for about 15 seconds before he died. Decoy was pretty much useless and was 1 hit every time. I could take a little bit more punishment and after 1 trip back to town to res the merc and buy more pots Duriel was dead. Closest to death I got was about 25%. 35 str, 191 life, 112 mana. And more life and mana than that whenever I don't have my Dex boosting gear on. Still using Pelta Lunata and the max block is really useful. Just switched to a combat act 2 merc and things got a lot easier. The offensive merc was useless, 2.5k AR in act 2 norm is a little overboard lol. Even with about 1.2k everything is still 95% chance to hit. I'll play some more tomorrow, hopefully get done with meph. So far the drops haven't been that great.

@severoth: It's still open, join up!

Act 2 wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be in general. I was pretty scared of the vipers but then I ended up getting charged by one and it hurt very little.

Duriel was also easier then I expected, but some of the Unraveler packs on the way to him/her/it were really tough. It was just super hard to get at them, but eventually the skeletons would shater and they would have less and less of them to revive and the tables would turn.

I'm slightly annoyed that with every point placed in Dexterity I still have a below 95% chance to hit some monsters. I'm also surprised at how little all that dexterity is boosting my bow damage.

Act 3 tomorrow. I have a feeling its going to be slow and crappy and take more then 1 night to complete. I don't like act 3 especially the underground bits, and the dolls are going to have to be treated with great respect.

Andariel was just scary. While it didn't take 15 minutes (more like 6) I did encounter my first NDE. Normally I leave a portal open before engaging a boss so I have somewhere to run. Well for some reason I forgot to do so and once my merc died I was poisoned and losing life fast. So I ran to where the portal was supposed to be to find....nothing. Not good as Andariel was hot on my heels and I was out of life potions. Opened a portal but had to run around the blood pool to get to it as Andariel was far to close to confort. I believe I stepped through that portal with about 5 life left :shocked:

But eventually Andariel fell. This means of course Act 2 awaits. Well fininshed the Sewers quest before stopping and that is where I encountered my second NDE. Ran into a boss pack of mummies where the boss was lightning enhanced. Not good as I have zero lightning resistance atm. Left the mercenary (brand spanking new desert dweller) to tank while I fired arrows from afar. Apparently I can't judge where to stand as I was hit over and over with the lightning spray from the boss. Ended up out of potions when the boss died...with two charged bolts heading my way as a parting gift from the boss. A little running around in circles avoided the bolts, but had one hit me I would be posting a deeds notice :shocked:

Stopping for now at level 21, three more until I can use Strafe. However I believe I need more than a hunter bow socketed with chipped gems to really do any damage outside of Lut Gholein.

Im having fun playing with poisoned javelins. It was a bit slow at first but now most packs take only one javelin and a bit of running around then they're dead. Viper is now level 30 and it's good having another body (Valkyrie) to block tha monsters. So far I have only used Decoy against Duriel, that was really tough as the merc died very fast so I had to revive him a couple of times.
 
Thinking about jumping in, my first turny and I suck at coding. At work now, so might not be able to get started til later tonight but hope I can sneak in some Act 1 today while I am not getting paged. This is gonna be really fun playing on my laptop with a USB mouse on a area just big enough for my laptop and trying not to die with a no life Zon... thinking crossbows... hmmm thats an idea.

Severoth Glass-Cannon 13 96 Stony Fields

I tried the coding way but it didnt work for me. If someone could be so kind to add Glass-Cannon in and also explain how to do the coding stuff that would be great!

Started up tonight, not sure how much time I will be able to play over the weekend though since I am moving in with my girlfriend. :thumbsup: However tonight was fairly successful. /players 8 for the entire way, and pretty much stashing + str items so I can use them to reach the level I need to equip items. Using a nice longbow atm which is excellent and have an inventory with a nice combo of elemental jewels. Smashing through everything, and doing full clears to boot. 1 NDE was when I accidentally clicked on an explosive shrine. ><

Must be more careful.

GL all. :) More updates to come this weekend hopefully.

One last thing...my plan is to go the physical damage way. This is a glass cannon tourney after all. :)

I am sure my deeds will not be remembered! Died to Big D, and with no good reason. I had low FR, but the snakes are pretty easy to avoid. Got hit with his ring of fire that took me down to half, so just went for my TP. Second ring of fire hit me before I had any chance. Didn't think to take a potion, as I did not want to waste it and I did not think he could hit me.

The only things that I lost that were worthwhile, were 2 +9 max damage jewels and a +14 max damage jewel.

Found time to do a bit more. Also, running out of room to hold lots of nice dex gear, so the Ichorsting had to go. Has been replaced with (of all things) The Diggler. Only 2 slots and +10 dex.

Had a bit of a scare while getting the amulet. I considered dropping down to /p 1 for these, but decided to give it a try and see how it went. They were just too fast and strong (and close !) and had me backed up against the wall with only the exit back to lvl 1 available. I had effectively trapped the entrance. No way I could go in there and live to tell the tale.

Anyway, not being downhearted, I tried again, still on /p 8 (I was going to give myself 3 tries before wimping out) and this time the mods were better and they weren't quite as close to the entrance. Wasn't easy, but managed to get them down without too much sweat.

Finished for today with the summoner and got the last WP in act 2. Ready for Duriel next time - going to try him on /p 8 as well, but I don't intend to be silly about it. If it doesn't show signs of working, I'll tp out and try again at a lower setting.
