Gheed's Charm

I got my first GHEED today, MF is only 21 :cheesy: I really want to get another one with higher MF.
My question is: How can you identify the charm (if it is GHEED) if you already have one with you? As you need to pick it up, store it then you can identify it, right? When you ID it and it is GHEED, you will have 2 GHEED with you!
This is not possible, right? Or, the game will drop either 1 of GHEED on ground?

Theres only 1 unique grand charm... Im pretty sure the game can identify whehter you have a unique grand charm in ur inventory or not xP
I have one, and have never seen another one in 3 months of Mfing. Although I am non-ladder, so that could be why?
I guess if another did drop, you would have to drop your current one, pick up the new one, identify it, then drop it and pick up the best one of the 2.
then bring in one of your other characters to pick up the lesser one

when we id the grand charm, where would it goes? if it stay in your inventory, you will have 2 GHEED! or either one will be dropped on ground?

Other than that: identifying is not really an "issue" in Diablo-2 (contrary to let's say nethack, where is it complicated). So, eve if there were other unique charms, Blizzard would most likely not implemented a "pickup unid-charm and auto-drop one once identified" scheme --- they would just not let you pickup the new one, just like now. Gives away the identity of the charm, but as I said... that's not a problem in D2 anyway.

This is correct. This happened to me last night and I had to tp back to town, buy a scroll, tp back, drop my existing gheeds and then identify the new one. Luckily the new one was 15% higher then the one i dropped (39%) as a sorc tele'd over and stole the one on the floor. Then they went on going 'lol, stole your gheeds, ha ha ha!'
Well, you know it's gheeds, as that's the only unique grand charm. However, if your question is about how to identify the stats to determine which is better, simply drop the one from your inventory on the ground, pick up the unid'd one, and id it. Keep whichever is better.
Of course, you don't want to drop your gheeds in a pub, especially if there are others nearby. However, in that case, the unid'd one wouldn't be laying on the ground for very long anyway
