Funny torch scammers.

Running out of original names to name my mf games, i opened a : n torch o 20jah game. So after a minute someone gets in and offers me a 20/20 sorc torch.

Me: Whats the lvl req on the torch?
He: Dunno
Player x left the game.

But since they prey on the greedy, desperate and trusting they don't have to be smart. The most common scam these days seems to be impersonation. Someone bids on a torch here or on RPGTraders and impersonates the seller or the buyer in game, often before the trade is even closed. The stupid in-game chat fonts bliz uses makes things really tough.
There is no 100% safe way to trade these items (torches, anni's, gheeds'). That's the way bliz made them. Just remember it's all virtual, and a trusted friend is worth more than a dozen mules of godly items.

Whenever I sense someone trying to scam me, I pretend to be a brain-dead idiot. My record for keeping a scammer trying to explain to me what to do is 26 minutes. It's awesome having fun at a scammer's expense.
