Final Fantasy Forum Mafia Game Thread

Just found this post.
To be honest I think I am the most suspicious of Techno and BA. Techno because of this post (particularly in relation to me). He states
"I haven't had any scum read from JCakes, so I'm leaning toward believing his claim." I don't think I've posted enough for anyone to really have a read on me in either direction. It feels to me an attempt to get close to someone that he knows is town for more town cred. The other bit that strikes me somewhat is the comment about BA "I've been on the fence about BA, but the Squire read from JCakes lends some credibility." The Squire read in no way shows BA to be town, in fact I think it is very likely there are some mafia squires around. Finally no claim yesterday while posting quite a bit and querying who my N1 target was (Frod did this as well) raises some alarms. Also he capatilises the C in Jcakes which is an obv scum tell.

Numbers being SK has me rethinking things. I don't think we are in LYLO/MYLO but have no way of knowing for sure. I feel like Numbers was just trying to advance his game at every post. Coju, I for some reason can't see myself voting for you this day phase after the shenanigans last day phase. I guess you and numbers should be considered independent of each other (since you could be mafia even though he was the SK), but for some reason it's hard to do that and I feel stronger now about you being town than I did yesterday. The Ant angle makes some sense...shady role claim, could be our last mafia, very under the radar play.

The question is if Gold and Fred would vote this early if one or both were scum and I have a hard time believing that they would. Just like last day phase I am in no hurry to lock, but an Ant vote feels right as of right now.

My thing about numbers didn't have anything to do with Moar. I just started trying to figure out where things stand given the slew of deaths to this point.

I was asking for an explanation about the Moar vote because lots of things are being said in discussions and I was hoping for a succinct summary. I was pretty shocked with the suddenness of the Day Kills of BPC and Drixx but I haven't yet been able to make sense of that or really figure out a voting strategy of which I am confident.

The only other time I've played this game I was on the mafia team so this time around I've just really not known what to do. I'm trying to see if summarizing information would help me to understand things a bit more.

I started making the summary for myself but I decided to post it here to check if things are right, get some feedback, and contribute more to the general discussion.
And a reminder that Jobs are not indicative of Faction. (Yes, knight does sound like it could be a strongman ability, I'm not ignoring that.)

And sniped by you. I understand your concern and your vote. As I demonstrated yesterday, Techno had a post that I thought was meaningful and after the numbers flip I don't think it was.

I believe I agreed that Cakes' scan of me shouldn't give me blanket immunity. Almost nothing in these games should. I have to believe that Techno was trying to gain credibility by reenforcing aspects that Jcakes said were true. Either way, there isn't the connection you think there is.

Oh, almost forgot. I suggest we post what we are and can do for reference to all:

Chemist. I had 2 potions: Elixor and Healing. Elixor gave the person a +1 shot to their spell. The potion healed the person in case they were attacked in the night (like, I suppose it would prevent a NK).
I gave the potion to FoE last night, and the elixor to Moar a few nights ago, once I saw there wasn't more DK's.
Why Moar, you ask? Well, she was the only one I could remember that posted that they had a x-spell shot.
Why Foe? I really didn't know who to chose last night.

Well I think this depends on if you think Moar was scum (I do for one, there is no need for a SK to hide information when they are being lynched). Drixx claimed black mage and Moar claimed black mage....If I am looking at roles in a vacuum, black mage just sounds scummy right?

I was really hoping you had a phoenix down :(

Yes, you did agree with Jcakes (note the little 'c', ><) a couple of posts down from that. If you click to where the post goes, you'll see Techno's 'assessment'. Techno was scum, yes, so remember that when reading.
Your answer's to Jcakes' feeling was perfect. A, "You're right, but I'm not what you think I am," type of answer. The same with your answer here. Scum-confirmed posts hold the most valuable information, in my opinion. Their posts lead to more connections and confusions, as they know who is on their winning team. With so many "Power Roles" this game, it is almost, just almost, hard for me to believe town had 2 squires. One of them, iirc, was mod-killed.

You, are a squire, and since you said that at the beginning... we've already had this conversation this game, "Lynch all liars?" and what not.
I would caution the rest of the players to hold their votes, look into the players a bit more, as we have 24+ hours to decide on this day phase.

Yes, a phoenix down would have been nice. I should have bartered with the mods in the beginning...

We agree on 2 aspects of this post. The first is lynch all liars which I could try to make a case against you, but instead I think you saved your hide yesterday by withholding meaningless information when I was on your case which led to a numbers lynch +1 town point.

The second is for players to not vote too soon because there is no reason to. I would be voting for Ant if I was scum, why would I not be?

Lastly, (and this is going off memory) I am pretty sure there were more than 2 squires this game. I am one, Zokar was adamant about being one, and wasn't someone who was modkilled was one? It's just the "vanilla" role for this game as I interpret it. I understand your assumption, but it just isn't true.

FoE: FYI, I asked for your targets to catch you in a lie, since I had a missed kill. You didn't protect a person I failed to kill on N1, so that moves you to the top of the scum list for me. Alternatively, my target could have been jailed N1.
(Pulled from Number's post, before Ir read BA's 711)

This reminded me. What do you all think of 2 'doctor' roles in the game? I was a sort of 'doctor'. (the potion).

Not at all. I think Moar was and I think Drixx was not. Why would Numbers lie about Moar being scum? To throw wine in everyone's eyes? I think the black mage job title sounds scummy when you read it out of context which is why the "job title is not indicative of alignment" rule was changed. My point was "black mage" sounds scummy when there is no other context around it (aka you've played FF games)

Because the 3rd vote is only a lynch, not a lock. BA, we both know you are a smart player. I do thank you for saving me yesterday. You and Zokar both.

Off to bed. /nightthread

2 things about this post:

You failed to kill someone night 1?

2: what was your motivation with the information of your role yesterday? What was your gameplan and reasoning behind almost getting lynched for withholding information that seems very unhelpful as of right now? You haven't lied, but you haven't helped either. The fact that you were almost lynched yesterday seems ridiculous compared to what you just claimed your actual role is.

Based on the posting of this game a lynching vote may as well be a locking vote :).

I'll join you in bed. G'night.

I think we have seen two squire flips so far (gory and someone who god modkilled). Then we have ba, zokar and gold who claims/claimed to be squires. That's 5.

Also, thanks for the pot coju. For the record I did not receive any notification about receiving anything, but given the nature of the claimed ability that isn't surprising to me.

Ha, you may be right.

Yesterday, I played stubborn. I even apologized for potentially throwing the game by my behavior. I was going to stand firm on my stance that I wouldn't talk more about what I was.

Not once has the argument that knight = mafia been made.

The argument has been made that a knight may hold a strongman ability, and given what has happened the last few days it is likely that a strongman is present.
