Final Fantasy Forum Mafia Game Thread

It's always in the town player's interest to trade 1 for 1, and never in the scum player's interest to do so. You actually think I'm an anti-town day kill who has to put my kill in the thread for all to see? Come on now let's not compound my misread and lose two townies today. That's just not at all rational.

@Goldtru - I could wall o' quote the posts (and posts that BPC ignored) that made me think BPC was scum, but it doesn't really seem to matter now. I thought I had a solid scum read and my recent scum reading has been very good so I went with it. I immediately fessed up that the flip was pro-town and that my read was off. I don't think there's much more to be said about it really.

If you logically evaluate my role I think it's fairly obvious that I'm almost certainly town aligned so the only group that benefits from getting rid of a town aligned day killer is team scum. By all means if I get lynched at least I can apologize to BPC in person a lot sooner, but it won't actually help the town in the least. It simply compounds my error into another.

OK, Drixx, that actually makes sense, I can't see scum so publicly slaughtering someone because they would immediately bring down a flood of votes on themselves. Consider it PTSD. ;)

This should go without saying, I think, but if I were anti-town, I would have an anti-town role PM and could have made up a name and job and ability and just claimed BPC was scum and pretended to have nailed a scum. I get why the immediate response was to vote me because I did just make a big mistake and as we've seen in recent games it sometimes comes down to one play one way or the other.

Unless you're neutral trying to come off as town...

What would my win condition be, as a neutral, that gives me a 1 shot day vigilante plus other spells to use? I am, essentially, a JOAT mage, and I have never seen a neutral JOAT because what win con would they have? I'm either mafia or town. I will let my actions speak for themselves. I'm pretty sure a mafia aligned JOAT would make the kill and claim it was scum ... not make the kill and immediately reveal that it was a townie and apologize.

Any time your explanation requires that several unlikely things be true, you are probably wrong. Occam's Razor and all that.

I do not believe a word of what you said. You are 100% scum trying to get away with that play. You just can't be a town Black Mage since I am a town Black Mage.

Cast Fire: Drixx

Yes, that's a real shot as well. Rule #17 or #18. Please move to the dead thread, Drixx.

I got the flip. It was interesting. I'm sorry BPC that my read was off. Hopefully no vendetta?

BPC was town aligned *sigh* and since I have absolutely no idea what on earth the ability actually means I think it would be best to keep it from team scum.

Do you think you should know what it means?

Or you could just explain why you thought he was scum instead of just taking what appears in the thread to be a pot shot. You could also explain why you took the shot now instead of later today. Why did you rush the shot? Also, did you think about giving him a chance to explain something before just shooting him?

Disagree. Dayvig could definitely be a mafia power.

I can think of a number of win cons for a neutral joat. I'm sure you could too, but you're choosing not to.

I think it's safer to announce he was town rather than risk lying, you don't know if he was investigated or not. Saying he was mafia would throw up major red flags to me that you're probably lying.

The way this played out feels particularly scripted and that's bothering me...

Would like to hear the results on that one.

Killing him while he had information still to give.....

So much haste in this game...

So with these posts:

We shouldn't trust Drixx, ever. That is all.

No vote drixx.

To me it sounded like BPC was a cop with a guilty verdict on Drixx, so Drixx tried to get rid of him before he came out and say it. Definitely thought he was a mafia who was trying to save his ***.

That said, any reason you didn't give him more time to explain himself?

Black Mage as he said. Sorry forgot that.

And why should I let him live and spread misinformation when I know for sure that he is scum? None of the information he'd give would be true.
