FC Werebear/Werewolf Weapon

Hello All. I have posted but like 3 posts so I am new to forum.

On a fireclaws werebear, the favorite weapon seems to be the 6 socket phase blade with 6 shaels. I want to know if any of these weapons would work the same if not better-

Hand Of Justice Phase Blade/ If a fanged Knife Hand of Justic Possible?

Ettin Axe Or Caducues Beast

Fury fanged Knife

Would any of those work the same, if not better. I like beast for the +skills. Hand of Justice for the -20 to fire Resistance. I like the Fury Fanged Knife for it's speed.

Hi Edo!
Welcome to the Druid Forum!

Lemme see if I can help,

First off, 6 socket phase blade with 6 sheals would be faster than a Fury Fanged Knife by...infinity. The other mods on the FFK don't help Fireclaws and the speed is atrocious. Don't bother with the FFK. You may look cool but that's not going to help you in the long run.

I'm not sure about the swinging rate of the other weapons you've listed but I'd like to wager that the mods granted aren't any better than the awesome speed you recieve from a simple shael'd PB.

The Hand of Justice Phase Blade seems interesting but I haven't done any number crunching. Compare how fast the two weapons are and see if the -20 to Fire resistance results in a greater damage output compared to the greater speed in the Sheal'd PB.

Speed is a key issue with Fireclaws, anything else is just secondary..IMO.

Try going to TheDragoon's speed calculator and figure out the FPAs for the weapons you've listed and work from there.

Hopefully I've helped but don't hold me to my word. You're definitely on the right track experimenting with other weapons and maybe you'll find a new weapon that no one has thought of.

Keep up the good work Edo and don't be afraid to ask questions!

For the weapons you've mentioned they probably all do similar average damage (taking into account higher damage for some, more speed for others) so the fact that a 6 shael'd phase blade is much cheaper pushes that into the lead IMO.

Note- If the druid is a PvP druid then speed is 100% more important than anything else so definately go with 6 shael'd pb (or 4 shael + 2x ed/ias jewels if you want more physical damage).

grumpy - yes it would get max sockets.
i think ias/ar jewels would give more benefit as ed/ias in a phase adds very little damage.
A switch for physical damage would probably work better for wolf or the ar would help if was used with bear as physical weapon too.
