Favorite Revives?

Just wondering what everyone's favorite revives are. I generally revive a little bit of everything, focusing on the big melee monsters when they're availible, and avoiding weird ones like finger mages. I don't think there's too much question that Frenzytaurs are the most powerful, but we've already got mad killing speed, so I just go for fun.

Favorite: Flayers (because I used to hate them so much, and now they work for me! Plus if you thought they were fast before...)

Runner Up: Fallen Shaman (because as I'm teleing around, it's great to hear "Calenzdo!" from time to time, plus I love getting a pile of casters all going at the same time)

Least favorite: Finger mages (do they do anything?)

Favorite:
Urdars (or their counterparts)
Doom Knights
Pit Lords
Frenzytaurs

I kinda like those Marauders. You know, the four-armed, scimitar wielding things that originated in Act 2. They are almost as deadly as the Frenzytaurs.

Burning Souls.

1) They're REALLY annoying, and it's fun to make them your slaves after they die for being so annoying.

2) Soooo BM in duels.

Dark Archers when appearing as Act 5 guest monsters. They shoot Freezing Arrows, you know.

Too Bad they are a major pain in the posterior to face with a skellimancer. Having all your skellies frozen is not fun.

Agreed, definately my favorite.

I also like the act 5 burning skele archers, their rate of fire is incredible. The other obvious choices are Pit Lords, Moon Lords, Urdars etc etc. Blood Lords are also good fun with meteor and firewall. Spear cats and Scarabs are pretty cool too, looks good with a mixture of the two!

My least favorite are definately Desert Wings or their variations... they just seem to fly away at the first sign of trouble!

Urdars are great vs bosses, having your personal smiters (they use smite) with crushing blow is great. Frenzytaurs are death incarnate too...I also love vipers, they tend to deal with souls very nicely...

1. Burning archer ( i have nigma, that should explain it )
2. Urdars
3. those dammed Gloams
4. those fast running spearwomen ( charge to dead f******s )
5. anything that shoots kinda fast

Anyone ever raised Thorned Hulks, or the guest versions in Act 5? What are they like?

Very good, especially when they go into 'whirly' mode (a bit like those Frenzytaurs). But they do take up a lot of melee space.

Those quill rat things are nice too, since they fire faster when revived, and have poison for PMH.

1- nightlords, minotaurs...etc
2- Burning archers/dark archers (my own artillery -ie mages just don't have enough impact)
3- black souls/gloams (sweet when you tele around and they just spread out and the streaks head out...man awesome...when on your side of course  )
4-Urdars , i like the stun/knock back - great for creating space
5- Pit Lords
6- spectors/ghosts - just cause they stack and can attack that way....
7- ghoul lords...
8- doom knights/abyss knights - and CEing Oblivion Knights (casue i cant rev them :undecided: )

I'm surprised those Marauders aren't as popular. On my summoner (now naked) I found them to be very effective.

are the mauraders=temple guards those semi invisible ...umm things lol in the nihks temple?...they sort of are semi-transpartent...reminds me of predator or something...

im not sure what they do...but i always like the frenzy minotaurs..night lords since they just bum rush the enemy (and close very very quickly)...

and sometimes i get the spear women if i happen upon them in cold plains...same as the minotaurs..they're fast...but i think the minotaurs have a certain "coolness" factor lol.....

Everybody loves Urdars! I like Burning Dead Archers, Ghosts in the Arcane Sanctuary, and Succubi. Yes, they overwrite your curses, and yes, they're not entirely useful, but pretty dead girls + pretty blood stars = aesthetic splendor.

PS, something weird with one of my revives the other day. Nightmare, Frigid Highlands, revived some Imps for fun. Some time later I noticed that my army kept ignoring this one Imp that seemed to be following us around. I hovered over it with Unsummon and it stated that it was, indeed, a revive, even though the sprite looked exactly like a living monster, i.e. yellow skin, blue clothes, white hair, not dark gray like revives should be. I left-clicked on it (Teeth) and shots came out towards it too, indicating that it was a valid monster target. Weird. So for three minutes I had a full-color revive fighting for me, which I thought was pretty cool.

Nah Marauders originated in Act 2, but they make guest appearances in Act 5. They are the four-armed, scimitar-wielding beasts who turn red and go a bit crazy. A pack of them is very strong.

hmm damn i don't remember the...they don't look a bit like the swamp thing?

oh hand of naz: i actaully had a really weird experience...so after killing uber duriel..me and a buddy of mine started clearing out the rest of the desert lvl...but there were 3 stag beetles taht we coudln't attack....they couldn't hurt us...and kept following us...i thought we lagged out or something...the worse thing was that they were bascially like a confuse spell on my skeles...about 5-6 were occupied with these guys they couldnt attack...or even target...it was really weird....:undecided:

Garion take a look down in the Sewers in Act 2. You'll know what I mean when you see them. Ugly things, four arms, sword-wielding. They turn red and get angry, or blue if they're in Crystalline Passage or something.
