So I recently traded my Hoz for an Ethereal Vortex Exile.

I am a zealot who uses smite to uber.

Which shield is better for my purposes?

Exile, always. Unless, of course, if the exile is in a crappy shield, but if not it's pretty much the best shield in the game.

Unless your exile has low or no resists, it is better vs ubers for the 15% ctc life tap alone.

If it was anything else I would have told you that a upped hoz is ten times better. But if your saying ubers only, life tap.

Actually a Hoz isn't really what a zealot needs. For pvm an exile with resists is top, while for pvp,an alma negra,a stormshield,a phoenix,and exile (ed/ar) are all better options. My pvp zealot has one for holy shield prebuffing only...But a hoz is a hoz and it can be used everywhere even by a zealot, to be precise.

Useing hoz with cta is not gratuitous at all. Almost every PvP zealer will use cta/hoz to cast holy shield for the boost in def, and the cc build requires the +str on 'fal' hoz to equip levi which then once you switch back to edc/exile the +str on levi lets it stay equip and also lets you equip coa and rends which ends up saving you 30 stat pts that can be put into vita. Now maybe if it was like a 200% hoz it would be a little gratuitous.

Actually it is an upgraded 188%ed that I bought a year ago for a relatively low price after looking really hard for quite some time.I also use this hoz during baalruns for the resists.

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood you. I thought you meant that you were using Exile for prebuffing, but I guess that wouldn't really make sense, I thought that maybe the defiance aura gave you a synergy or something. Nevermind!
