Eth armor questions.

I found a 0 os Eth Archon with 699 def and was wondering, if socketed would this be worth using on my merc or maybe even selling? Also, how many sockets would larzuk give it? (If worth keeping at all)

Thanks, RR

It will get 4 sockets from Larzuk.

If that armor is non superior, I would definitely socket it using the cube recipe and use the cube bug.

only rune word that have some release value and crosses my mind is eth forth. If u feel lucky glitch it with cube.stone is another option some zealer use eth stone against barbs.

You're gonna get around 1050 def on that thing if you cube it using the recipe Tal + Thul + Ptopaz. You could end up with 1-4 sockets on it, but your best chances are getting 4 sockets, and lowest chance of getting 1 (I forget how the probablility works out). If your feeling bold and don't mind a bit of risk taking, I'd cube it. That armor won't have any trade value if you socket it with Larzuk. You'll get the most trade value out of it if you get 4 sockets, and still some with 3. Even if you get 2 sockets in it, you can make a Prudence. 1 socket...well the most your gonna get out of it is 35k.

Yes it is not superior. Cube bug, I've heard of it but don't know how that works though, How do you do that? Should I use the cube socket recipe first before cube bug?

The cube bug occurs simply by socketing an armor in the cube with the recipe. You don't need to do anything special to activate it.

*Sigh*
I don't know how many times I must've posted these recipies for people.

1 Tal Rune + 1 Thul Rune + 1 Perfect Topaz + Normal Body Armor = Socketed Body Armor

1 Ral Rune + 1 Amn Rune + 1 Perfect Amethyst + Normal Weapon = Socketed Weapon

1 Ral Rune + 1 Thul Rune + 1 Perfect Sapphire + Normal Helm = Socketed Helm

1 Tal Rune + 1 Amn Rune + 1 Perfect Ruby + Normal Shield = Socketed Shield

For anyone else that has general questions about Diablo 2 please see, the online :Bible:

Thanks, I have these recipes. I just never knew what people meant by bugging items.

BTW, No offense but maybe you just shouldn't post if you're going to complain about it, I'd rather have no help at all then to get help from someone who complains about helping someone who doesn't know something.

The probabilty of getting 4 sockets is 50%.

The cube socket works basically like:

I roll a 6 sided die (no d20s here)
I got N
Add N items to socket
If item cannot have N sockets then N=N-1
Add N sockets to item....

Basically for you armor the chances are 3/6 that you will get a 4, 5, or 6. Either of theses results in 4 sockets. Hence 50%.

Edit armors have a base of 4 (a 4 sided die then) so its 25%. The above works for weapons.

If you roll 4 sockets with the cube, make ethereal Fortitude or Stone for your merc.
If you roll 3 sockets, make an ethereal Duress for your merc.
If you roll 2 sockets, I guess you can make a Prudence out of it.

Did that really come off as a complaint? I mean... Really? I thought the 'tongue' smiley was self-explanatory.

It was the way you worded it as if you were put out by having to post the recipe for the umteenth time that struck me as being a complaint, either way no worries.

In all honesty though, if you thought my post was a complaint, thats was nothing compared to some of Merick's critical remarks.

Love ya Merick.
