Doombringer sword question

I haven't made a barb in 1.10 but the other day I found a doombringer.

In the old 1.09 days I always wanted one of these but now it doesn't impress me, especially as I've already got a 5 socket Rune Master axe.

Is this sword worth using? Unless I've missed something I think I might as well dump it.

Even with a shael it doesn't hit the max whirlwind bp and there are far better choices for concentrate. This sword can barely cut it in late nightmare and is just a joke in hell.

Actually, I've had alot of fun with my dual doombringer Frenzy barb. He kills faster than you'd think and of course you can't beat the life bonuses from the swords. something fun to try if you want something new.

I'll second that... I kill with reasonable speed in hell and alarming speed in nm and normal wielding a shael'd doombringer and a flamebellow.

i ww just fine with a doombringer. it has a 35ed/15ias jewel in it and it does well in hell. . .i could solo any act with no problems so i dunno what you're talking about when you say doom is a joke in hell.

I have a frenzy barb who has 2 doombringers and it doesn't cut the mustard in hell. It just doesn't have enough damage to make it viable in 8ppl games. I kinda equate things to how fast other builds clear mobs. This build might take 2 minutes to clear a 5 monster mob... so I don't see how people think it is viable.

BTW I have max frenzy synergies all except only points into mastery are from a helm and my adders so it is like 5 to mastery or something like that at level 80.

Exactly what damage are you doing with those two swords and do you have much crushing blow? Crushing blow is an essential skill with the insanely high monster health in hell...
