Do u get more exp by killing or using ondals

draycoy - think about it like is.

in 09 you could leech in hell cows at level 2, all the way up 70 ish before you had to cow a little

in 1.10 you cant leech in cows, this is because they implied a stronger xp slide, that is, party exp share is less, and what is shared, it is more towards the people nearest to the level of who did the killing.

every baal run i get about 1.8 million exp when i kill everything. with a 10% anni, you basically get 2 million exp, now if you manage to kill everything with an ondals, you come in a 2,070,000 which isn't that much more. however, if you leech through a game, obviously, you wont get as much exp.

this is because, with 8 person game, the monsters are harder and you get more exp for each kill, the easiest way to "test" this im guessing, would be right when you level, do an 8 game baal run and kill people you would as normal, without the ondals. calculate the exp you gain, then die. that way you will loose enough exp to reset ti at the beginning of your level. go to a new baal game, and leech, with ondals, and calculate your exp gain, then die, and finally make one and kill with ondals and anni then calculate your exp

the variables will vary of course, but this gives you a more accurate view of how much exp gain you will get each time.

im guessing killing with the ondals + anni, and killing with just anni, will come out with about the same.

therefore, i reccomend you jsut kill with the anni, since if i see you doing baal runs with ondals im gonna call you a noob. (only if youre a barb, although i have seen cows done with a barb with a windforce)

I hate to go on a rant here, so Forgive me.

[rant]

There is a thread here, (http://forums.rpgforums.net/showthread.php?t=233831) That asks if public Baal runs piss anyone else off.

The reason why they are not good for leveling or etc, is that the game ends up with 8 people who only want to leech experience.

Not only does this waste everyones time, but none of you even get experience, not even counting the ones that die to stuff like Black Souls because they are weak characters.

IMHO, There is no excuse. None.

I have played when the new ladder started, it didnt stop me. It was difficult, but I was able to kill anyway, using magical items.

I have played a base strength hammerdin(enigma breastplate) on ladder this season, and even though in nm baal runs he had only 30 base strength(w/o charms and gear), it seemed like I was the only one killing anything in some of the games(some of the games ended up with multiple blizzard sorceies and multiple hammerdins: those games were fast for all of us)

[note: This is using a stealth breast plate, because I was too low of a level for the enigma at that time]
[note 2: This pally killed normal baal at level 26 with only the items he had found, solo without any other character's help]

A good party, even with the burden of the crappiest magical gear in hell, with strong character builds will get experience faster and will live longer(some people play hardcore after all :D). Character Diversity is very important too, with some of the games in the begining of ladder, killing diablo in hell was very difficult with 7 blizzard sorceresses and one fire sorceress with all the usual ladder-started-yesterday magical gear. (cold immunes!)

Summary:

Leeching experinece is a waste of time, not only for you, but for people like me, people like are in the thread I referenced.

Stop calculating this miniscule experinece difference, build a strong character, have friends with equlally strong characters, and baal as fast as you can. Now this requires that you actually kill things and try.

If I am doing a baal run, and I see you stand in the corner of baal's minion's room with ondals, I'm going to hostile you and everyone in my party.

[offtopic]Now if you get a realm down because blizzard thinks you are botting, that isnt my problem. GJ Blizzard![/offtopic]

There is a difference between not trying to help and not being able to help. Some of us aren't fortunate enough to have Enigma's on the new ladder and some people are building characters that have a hard time killing with a low skill base.

The key is to attempt to help. Distract the minions away from the sorcs and hammerdins, who can kill packs in the time it takes for melee characters to kill one. Shout and BO to help your party, or change auras. I am usually the one that when no one else goes to the WSK, I start to walk (mostly with my Hunter druid) and everyone else just drops from the game.

That's right... a Hunter. It doesn't quite go as fast as an Enigma-using Hammerdin. But I tell you what, I'd argue that it's more fun to play for me.

ok.... and you're saying 'cause a hammerdin can kill baal at 26 every class can? Last I knew hammerdin = overpowered build. Personally I'd say do the killing, as a player who plays for fun.

point in hand, gear isnt as important as having fun is. keep your 10% anni, and kill the things. leeching does become a pain, because most people do want to leech. i have a hammerdin build and he uses que hegans because im currently rather poor.

he kills things fine and is level 89. very true, pointless baal runs but thats allright to me. when i want to go around and do other things i do. when i want to help people with ancients or baal, i do.

odds are the 10% killing and 15% leech will not make a huge difference inbetween each other, just kill and have fun.

allright, now back to the topic at hand before this gets uber hijacked.

There is a difference between not trying to help and not being able to help.

And there is a difference between trying to help and standing in the corner.

The key is to attempt to help.

Again that isn't leeching.

ok.... and you're saying 'cause a hammerdin can kill baal at 26 every class can? Last I knew hammerdin = overpowered build. Personally I'd say do the killing, as a player who plays for fun.

I'm saying that if a 30 str hammerdin can do it UNTWINKED, at level 26, that seeing level 40 characters stand in a corner is "bent"

the hammerdin was just an example.

Now before you bash my Ladder Enigma Clicky to See
I was nm Baaling in 8 player games with 7 leechers with a stealth breastplate, a plain "belt of strength", some "chain gloves of strength" and etc.

It sickens me to see people not even trying, waiting for other characters to level them.

#2) "J00 got theis Awesome Gear Yo"

When I was playing my blizzard sorc 2 hours after ladder begun I didnt, and I was not standing in a corner becuase she was weak. I even did hell diablo 2 times.

There is no excuse for you guys standing in a corner w/ ondals and an anni.
"But You got an enigma yo! I got crappy gear"

Join the club, we all have had crappy gear at some point. I considered my shimmering grim shield of deflecting pretty godly 12 hours after ladder started. Thx anya.

"But I got some saved Stat and Skill Points yo!"

Do you know how hard it is playing a character to level 65 with 30 strength only? Do you know the kind of gear you can equip? Sure he got lucky and I found an SOJ for him, but I was also using a 2x Flawless shapphire skull cap, and a magical wand with +5 mana after each kill. Those are some awesome godly items there!

"But I find it more fun hiding in a corner getting experience than playing, Yo!

I find it more fun hostiling the weak crappy characters that enter my baal runs. I find it more fun getting my level 92 blizzard sorc when they get thier high level character to kill me.

I am usually the one that when no one else goes to the WSK, I start to walk (mostly with my Hunter druid) and everyone else just drops from the game.

I didnt even let no one just stand in town and not go. I threw vigor on and ran. Now luckily pallys have vigor, and it can really help at times, but When the ladder started, and I only had my weak sorceress, I just took the opportunity and helped the best I could do. And that DID NOT include standing in a corner.

Currently. Im either killing or if i have a good game i kill with ondals.

:)

I dont really leech unless its really laggy. I have ondals on switch because sometimes i lag too much and cant move and i just switch to ondal so im getin ga little more exp.

IM currently almost lvl 93. My barb is 2 day sold :) Onda+ww=ownage.
