Death Auras

Are there stats on monster death auras? How much damage and how far? I just hate it when they explode and your life drops to almost nothing (hopefully it's almost nothing, lol).

I believe this is what you're looking for. It lists the Fire Enchanted monsters as removing 75-100% of a player's life within 4 yards upon death. A merc is impervious to this kind of dmg, however.
 
I never knew it was percent based..
why on earth would they have 100% as a possible amount of damage? Do they expect hardcore melee characters to use a ranged weapon once that fire enchanted monster is almost dead?
 
The mistake you are making is: it's not your 100%, its the monster's. It's like corpse explosion. For example: if the max hitpoints of the monster is 1000, then that is the most damage it will explode for.

Woops, my mistake. I should have figured that. Of course, that's even worse when going up against FE monsters in hell. 75% of Geleb's life:10308-24052, would still be plenty to take out most barbs. How come he doesn't always kill you if you're in range of his CE? Hell, 75%-100% of their life is still scary if it were a hell devilkin's life too: 1159-3400.

Its also 50% physical 50% fire so fire absorb and fire resist even maxed can only stop about 45%+/- of the attack and PDR can only stop 25% more of the attack leaving ~30 % of the corpse explosion unblockable. Imagine 30% of the hell ancients health being unblockable. Let alone the bug that adds that corpse explosion damage to the regular attack of the monster. 30% of the monster life unblockable as a ranged attack, ie skeleton archer in hell.

Not a fun bug to mess around with :rant:
