confused about 1.10b or not?

As my precious sorc was doomed when I messed up a back up copy of her entire life, the thought of playing yet another sorc is not very appealing... So I thouhgt I might fire up a version of 1.10b in order to pass time with a lot of HF rushing to get meself a beta Call to Arms and possibly a Beta Bramble (I really odn't have the patience for that but it's a fun goal)

My search-Fu gave me a link to blizzards own patch download centre, but I'm really ont sure if that is the beta patch or not, and www.justgoogleit.com came up blank snce everywhere it says that the file doesn't excist. Is it still possible to get my hands on the 1.10b patch at all?

Hopefully I will get the patch today since I don't have any school until monday and since I'm home sick anyway I would love to get a new patch t spend time with =)

#edit: ok... my search fu is weak... saw a like to phrozen keep, but that didn't give my anything since I don't really wanna pay for a membership on fileplanet...

I registered to fileplanet ages ago but I'm sure that I haven't paid single coin for doing so. And when i downloaded the patch little while ago from Phrozen Keep, I managed to log in with that old account and downloaded the file succesfully. I think you should try just registering there, I bet there is some kind of option to be able to register as "non-premium" user for free.

If you somehow fail to download the file, I can try downloading & uploading it to different place once I get home from school (going to take ~3 more hours). Are you talking about LOD or Vanilla patch btw?

Erm, LoD I guess. But I think this will workd actually... so far they don't wan't my money =).

Also, there is no 1.10b.

Only 1.10a,1.10s and 1.10final.

Indeed, I didn't even pay attention on that. I personally play 1.10s but I'm not quite sure about differences between versions. I think I read somewhere that 1.10a CTA uses different combination of runes than 1.10s version so 1.10a CTA wouldn't work if it is brought forward in versions. But as I said, I'm not a professional with the different versions so my words can't be used as trustable source.

1.10s is the one I'm aiming for, and I succeded in downloading it, now I just have trouble starting it up =)

Ok, Now I'm getting frustrated here... note to self, don't start hating your computer when you have a severe headache, and Spike Jones should be avoided at all costs...

I have the patch thingie, but how ever I try it says that the game is already at that patch or better (1.12), Do I need to reinstall the game or what is the deal? Please forgive my lack of intelligence here but I can't brain today, I has a stoopid as the lolcats would say.

I think you need to do a fresh install/use trenshadows version switcher. Maybe theres a way to roll-back, but I'm not aware of it.

Using Trenshadowns swicher... the 1.10 in that batch is the normal 1.10 (of 1.10final or whatever it is called) and not the 1.10s, no?

If that indeed is the patch I need then there is no problem, but I would hate spending a lot of hours only to find out that I needed a different patch and I need to do everything over again.

pretty sure you cant downgrade from 1.10 final to 1.10s. So a new install of d2 and expansion is needed to upgrade to 1.10s. Or copy an older version if you have like me. My d2 installcount is at 8 atm:jig:

I almost have all versions since 1.06 classic on my computer

I got the patch working with a simple copy paste and reinstall =)

But another problem surfaced. Whenever I go to a new act via quest, the game crashes.. any thoughts on how this occured or how to fix it? Sure I can just reinstall it, but I would prefer not to.

Are you starting the game with the -ns parameter? This will cause a crash when videos play (such as those when a character advances acts).
