I disagree, I strongly believe blizz is going to nothing about it.
Now not that i support chicken, i mean if this tppk thing is pissing you off that much and bothering you that much than maybe softcore is right for you.
Here's my situation:
I usually play only with friends or solo on sc. I've never heard of this and am only aware of it now that I read this post. Could someone explain it to me, because I have just started a decent hc pally and don't want to go through hc only to have my first experience with hardcore spoiled by a hacker.

Tppk = when a character, mainly a necro using bonespirit, or a zon using ?guided arrow or a druid using tornado decides to shoot the relevant missile in your direction and then tp to town and hostile in a few milliseconds so all the missiles hit you, killing you pretty much instantly in the case of a necro.
A true nightmare for high lvl chars in hc. That's why I don't play with necros or zons anymore.
Hostile chickenhack = a modification of maphack similar to the damn chicken-using-cheaters in dueling games, where you instantly exit on being hostiled.
Its always fun to find the ppl who use this, and constantly hostile them as soon as they rejoin the game.

DO WHAT THE HELL YOU WANT. you get banned. thats your fault. bnet will never be perfect. and if it was we would prolly be payin monthly for it like EQ. so ya, if you wanna take a chance and use mh,chicken, or even bot. do it, its on you. everyone else can piss and moan about it. :grrr:

Seriously though. there are too many exceptions to that rule for it to be true. I don't think that when society started arming certin citizens to deal with armed criminals that the criminals 'won' anything.
and keep in mind that what we consider the free world where we have the right to pretty much invent ourselves into whatever we want and can have discussions like this exists solely becuase we make it a point to keep ourselves better armed than the people who would like to take these freedoms from us. I hardly equate that to those people winning either.
Also I guess by the logic of that post if someone murders a bunch of people at random and society puts that person to death then society is as much the monster as the murderer.
Maybe you think that way. I know a lot of people who do. But it's wrong as are most sweeping generalizations. they keep you from using your brain to look at the specifics of a situation. I wouldn't consider anyone on this forum who made a bone necro and went to baalruns TPPKing people who were there to TPPK the other players on anywhere near the same level as the pkers they put out of business.

If you used chicken, you would just be using another hack which im my opinion is just as bad as the tppk. If you can't handle playing hc without resorting to hacks like chicken, then maybe you should think about playing sc. If you enjoy hc for the challenging gameplay then there are ways to avoid tppk without using chicken. You just have to be patient and avoid the power lvl runs, take it a little slower and enjoy the questing. If you feel the need for the fast lvl runs, get a group of friends or trustworthy people together to do them. It may be a slower way of playing, but it won't get you killed and you don't have to be a hacker.

regarding the original topic: "chicken"... I just looooove chicken! Glad to find another chicken enthusiast! Chicken breast, chicken thighs, chicken liver, they are all awesome!
My advise is:
If you want somewhat fast progress and want to use public games to it, use mulepark games
there is lots of folk who arent doing anything. Lots of exp and just for you. i got from level 12 to 17 in one arcane cleaning, did some twinking thou to get full sigons on.
And i think norm baal goes with same method. My bro has once heared hostile bell when he was in act 1 stash. 24 level pally was trying to find him ^^
Then in higher levels in nm and hell, take some act 1-2 game, they are going to spend some time in there, and level up in your own private place alone or with friend(i had one friend and we did this alot) and sometimes if those other players didnt take stress out of us being in separate party, we usually helped some after we did our run. Lots of good drops and not grabbers, tppking, sometimes hostile bell rings but your location is different than the others and usually you are safe. well once we saw(my barb and my friends barb, i think it was 1.09 times when pk came worldstonekeep 2 wp and saw us boing there. went town and hostile.. but didnt ever come down? wonder why... hehe 98 and 9x level ww barbs wating at wp?^^ here kitty kitty kitty..we tried to flame a bit .. but out of succes...

It's a game do whatever gives you enjoyment. I can see some of the folk on this forum becoming monks to avoid the evil trappings of the world in order to achieve spiritual enlightenment. I guarantee that by using chicken hostile you will not become a societal deviant and will actually be able to have a gaming experience closer to what Blizzard intended for the game.

So there's no need to run back to town to wait them out, or Alt-F4 whenever you see some BS's coming your way. There's no difference in the game between SC and HC, other than the way you react to death. It doesn't matter if your character's name is red or tan, just how you play once you've died. So why not choose to play where the griefers are scarce? Granted, it's tough to delete your first character when it dies, but it get's easier to move on and rebuild, just like regular HC.

The only difference is the community, which now are pretty much equal....useless softies coming into Hc...time was I could drive em back..but not anymore *mumble*
The Animus first off, you are in your right to do "whatever" you want if its in your own house, your own game, your own pc, however you should know better that 99% of Hc ppl on the forums here are purists and even hearing the word hack, cheat, dupe they will jump on you like flys on poop.
I dont see how ppl come on to Hc forums and start saying "sorrry if I did this wrong or, apologize to ppl they dont even know in real life," this is classic teenage BS, trying to fit in, trust me you will grow up, and trust me its better making your OWN desicions.
Dont bother getting anyones sympathy , especialy online!! This is stuff for the weak.
Secondly you are WITHIN your RIGHT to counter anything that is interupting your pursuit for pleasure by any means nessasary, why should you play in private games with limited ppl? That ruins half if not all of the multiplayer experience, while letting the PK'ers WIN!! Their are VERY< VERY< few legit pkers out their, the rest use scripts such as "tppk"
Just keep playing the game its a fun game if you dont let it control your life.

Almost all the duelers for sure since they always are able to tell yuo exactly what equipment the guy they beat or lost to has. Probobly most of the uber rich though they will never admit to it and say something like 'nooblar its mah mad 5killz! ur just jealous!'

your last point is dead on though. Its not Blizzards fault we cheat at their game. its our fault as a community. blizz has put a hell of a lot of work into making this a hackfree cheat free game and people just can't accept the idea that if they want to cheat there is a whole open realm for them to cheat in to their hearts contenct and the closed realms are supposed to be for purists who just want to actually play the game.
If you play a game with your friends like chess or monopoly or backgammon and someone cheats do you fire off a nasty email at the person who invented the game for not making it impossible for some who wants to cheat to do so?
People cheat at poker all the time. I don't see anyone demanding that the inventor of the game change the rules to make cheating impossible, or blaming that person for the cheating.
the future doesnt look any better. there is only so much a company can do with an MMORPG serverside. some interaction must take place on the user's computer and this will alwys be vulnerable to client and script type progams. SO i'm thinking unless the mindset of the community of online games as a whole drastically changes every game will be more of the same that you see here. :drink:

You can't blame Blizzard for negligence. Maybe lack of foresight, but not negligence. Remember the saying “locks keep honest men honestâ€. The flip side to that is they only slow down thieves. I believe Blizzard made a fair effort the keep the game hack free. Thieves just found a way around the locks. Blizzard should however, fix the locks once they are broken (i.e., trigger, chicken, etc.).
