Buying D2+LoD

Ok, so now that I've started playing again, my nephew (aged 11, very much annoying and the cause of me deleting several chars) wants the game as well, so we can play together. Since it's his birthday soon-ish, I'm going to get him a D2+LoD set... but I'm having problems finding one.

I found the Diablo Battle Chest on amazon.com, and it looks good, but will it work on Windows XP ? Clickie

I don't want to pay $40 for something only my mom's ancient computer will run...

Re: Buying D2+LoD

It should work just fine on Win XP - It's Vista that has problems with DII.

BTW, you may be able to find the Battle Chest in a local store for the same price or cheaper.

Re: Buying D2+LoD

No local stores that carry it around here - same for buying the games separately. I spent the past few days looking around with no luck. I did find a couple of online stores that claimed to have it, only to get a "We're sorry, but the item(s) you requested are no longer in stock" message a few days after making the order -.-

Thanks, I'll just go ahead and order that one.

Re: Buying D2+LoD

The battle-chest isn't available for dl, just to buy. D2 and LoD are available for download, though... not sure if I'll get those, though. Prices are the same, and since I'll be giving it away I need something to give.

Also, he's 11 years old. I need to format and reinstall everything on his computer every month. I don't think trusting him with his keys only in digital format is a good idea. :D If I get the CDs, I can just copy down the keys and keep them for the inevitable reinstall.

Gah! I didnt notice the battle chest wasnt available for download.
You can probably teach him anything he needs to know at 11. I remember setting up my computer and installing the original diablo on it when i was 11 or 12. Even if you do give him the cd versions that may save you some trouble in the future.
