Builds for those "useless" items?

Re: Builds for those "useless" items?

I spent some time trying to figure out if the unique aegis Medusa's Gaze could possibly be useful for some builds.

When i found Meduza's Gaze i made a Meduzadin/Slowadin since it has 20% slows target. I also used Fleshripper, Blackhorn's Face and Nosferatu's Coil for a total of 70% slow. Up untill lvl 76 where i used Dracul's Grasp i had used Cleclaw's Pincers as gloves. A bit slow on killing but it was a fun build using some gear i had never used before.

Re: Builds for those "useless" items?

I used it on a convictor with baranar star as weapon. Could kill anything, but not as efficient as the power builds.

Re: Builds for those "useless" items?

Baranar's Star was a bad *** PI weapon back in the day.Especially with LI(no Schaefer's)

Black Oak is really useful in the A5 caves when you get cold mobs

It's not a unique but I always liked my eEternity ettin ax(14 or 15% sup) on my Zealot.

I've gone an idea for a few items, will report back on that later.

Far too complicated for the task though, and the knockback on Cleglaw's Pincers is annoying. Holy Freeze+ The General's Tan Do Li Ga= all the "slow target" you need.

Cleglaws' are better suited for a Slowazon. Upped Riphook +Nosferatu +Cleglaw's + Blackhorn=85% Slow Target, and Knockback becomes an advantage rather than a drawback

Re: Builds for those "useless" items?

I've been planning on making a Witchwild strafer. I have an upped one and a normal one, and I've never done this before. I've been debating on whether or not to skill up a valk and instead just use 40 points to get FA as a backup skill, probably using a Wizendraw or Buriza for it on switch.

Then today, I found Magewrath, Goldstrike Arch, and Widowmaker. Is it majorly worth using any of those bows of a WWS for what will probably be Nightfish's FA/strafe hybrid?

Re: Builds for those "useless" items?

I'm pretty sure an upped Goldstrike Arch would make for an excellent strafer bow.

I agree the knockback was a bit annoying in the beginning, but as time went by i got used to it and found it an advantage sometimes especially when swarmed.

But with the WWS, you already have immunity-breaking Amplify Damage plus a built-in Level 20 Magic Arrow as a backup skill! Why bother with FA?

WWS is a great little strafer weapon, especially if you have no Atma's Scarab.. Not as much punch as Windforce or Buriza, but the Amp, the resists (Bowazons ALWAYS suffer from poor resists) and the sheer versatility of socketing makes it a more than viable alternative.

Goldstrike's awesome IAS makes it a viable Strafer bow, I should think.

Re: Builds for those "useless" items?

This is more a question about a little used skill, rather an than item, but it seemed better than making a new thread.

Is Thunderstorm in any way viable? I was thinking of maxing it and lightning mastery as a little bonus for my upcoming Passion Enchantress. I dont know if it could ever do a decent amount of damage at a decent rate though. Has anyone ever actually taken this to the max?

Re: Builds for those "useless" items?

Yeah... it seems too underpowered to do any real damage, even as a secondary skill. I could do it for the style points, but it would seem that without much uber-gear, I'm probably going to put the points in a cold armor for defense and chilling.

Re: Builds for those "useless" items?

lol that thread made me think in a ugly PvP'er, sorc carrying infinity, dream helm and buffed TS and ES! The biggest coward in the Moor!
