Bugged unique battle gauntlets?

Forgive me if this is a noob question to ask, I just picked the game up again after a few years of not playing it.

I got this Magefist a while back and thought nothing of it. But then I found another one, and realized the first one was significantly higher defense. And then I looked it up, and realized unique Battle Gauntlets are SUPPOSED to be Lavagout.

I am pretty sure I was given it by a friend...so is this duped, or legit, or what? How much would this be worth in a trade?

Those are two different Magefists, what I mean by that is that the newer one has been upgraded via a cube recipe. These were introduced post 1.10. You can now upgrade uniques with a cube reciped, the base armor type will change and the base stats if I remember right.

That makes sense why I never knew about it...last time i played was during 1.10.

How would this change its trading value?

That depends on what the new base defense turns out to be. When assuming an average result, upgrading does not increase the value by more than the ingredients for the recipe are worth, of course, except the ladder season is about to end any you want to upgrade a few exceptional uniques to elite (which only works on ladder).

Did you mean WHEN it ends, or is there a confirmation on Ladder Reset? :shocked:
