Bug list?

Does anyone know where MiniMonk might find a list of bugs in the game that new players to D2 might want to avoid/exploit/ or in general be wary of?

So far MM have read about the Andy drop bug(where you need to talk to Warriv after killing Andariel so her drops don't turn into crap. And the Pit Viper poison one(Where you don't want to move if you are poisoned by them.).

Are there any others?

Edit: Hmm, MM placed this in Single Player since he was just thinking about the bugs you might encounter player by yourself, but maybe it should be moved to... Statistics maybe? Gah! MiniMonk! You are not allowed to make any more threads!!!

pit vipers are not a bug, but worth knowing about for sure.

the biggest one for me is bosses that are lightning enchanted/ fire enchanted or multiple shots.

also watch out for bosses that "pop" when they die, like radament and korlic ( only on NM and above I think)

The Paladin skill Sanctuary (which can also be found on the RuneWord Lawbringer and the unique Azurewrath Phase Blade) is bugged. Link.

And IIRC, Fire Enchanted monsters (what kestegs refers to when monsters "pop") do extra damage with their death animation in Nightmare only. Keep your distance and you'll do fine. This was once referred to as the "FE bug" and was extremely lethal in Hell, but has since been fixed.

There's also ATMA/e-bugging, but I can't give details since I know too little about it to give an accurate explanation. Someone else wanna fill in the details?

They reduced the FE damage in the latest patch for all difficulties.

Monsters with multiple enchantments release multiple novas/explosions though and the bolts of LE monsters and Scarabs carry invisible explosions/novas with them.

There exists some long and boring bug lists, I won't post the links because I doubt everything listed there are tested in the latest patch, even if the title says "1.13 bug list". You can just play the game and eventually you will know all the glitches.

The SPF FAQ (sticky) has lots of information. I believe ATMA/e-bugging has a link there.

Sorc inferno damage was never fixed. It's much lower than it should be, and Blizz has known about it for years. But I'm not bitter.

Also monster infernos were stronger than they should have been at least as of 1.12

There's a strange bug- not sure what it's caused by or how to avoid it- when your character freezes in hit recovery animation and can't move. You can open town portal off your belt, but you can't go in; you can manipulate your inventory or do other things that do not require your character to make any kind of movement animation. Can't cast spells, too. Your character usually un-freezes after it's hit by a monster. But if there are no live monsters, you're stuck; all you can do is exit the game.

As for useful bugs and tricks- at certain angles to the door, it is possible to cast Assassin traps, Sorc spells like Hydra or cast-able minions like Valkirye through closed doors.

P.S. Another thing. Try to not freeze Leapers (annoying jumpy spider-like thingys), and if you do, kill them before the un-freeze. Otherwise, regardless of how much health it had at the moment of being frozen, the un-frozen Leaper's health drops to 1, and it becomes untargetable AND immune to any and all damage. Your merc cannot see it at all. Basically, it doesn't exist, except it does and it can follow you around and attack you. If you've created an immortal leaper, get rid of it by running or teleporting away until it loses sight of you.

they did fix part of it, and I was referring to a couple of monsters that have a FE explosion but don't necessarily have the FE mod, so you can get surprised.

and they did not fix the LE/FE stun bug, if you stun a LE/FE monster, it basically gives its death explosion every time you hit it, which can empty even my barbs 5k life in 1-2 seconds if you keep attacking them.

Hit your weapon switch hotkey. It will fix it. Still annoying though.

1.09 has a number of fun bugs/imbalances to exploit, if you're interested in that aspect of the game. My favorite is the +3 skill Lightning Hose Act 1 Merc.

I recall a list being posted of more than just a lightning hose happening at excessive +skills. But sadly such a thing was unable to be reached without some... hax items.

The highest you can get her with legit items is 6 (Ice Bolt) - that would be Arkaine's with +2 Zon (1.09 Arkaine's splits the skills by character, +Zon skills works for this Rogue effect), Shako, and Cliffkiller. It might be fun to try out options 5 and 6, especially since 5 is not an option for any character.

There is a gold exploit bug in v1.10 (and previous versions too i think), but i'm pretty sure that it's not tolerate to use it here.
(weapon that can be sold higher than his buying price, was used on realms by botters for endless shoping ...)
