bow preference for me

I cant find and afford a wf so don't mention this. I have found: mavinas, goldstrike, lycanders, buriza, and a 165 wws. I want to create a bowazon that kills fast in hell: andy runs, baal runs, pit runs, or sanctuary runs. Will any of these work or do I need to find runes to up one of them. I don't mind strafing or multi as both are fun. I am looking for your experience and expertise so feel free to post.

I have some decent gear to complement, but not elite.

Buriza will have the best damage but is the slowest out of all!
wws is debatable with all its mods, it can pack a punch!
Goldstrike would only be good if you upgrade it!

I know WF is way out for most legit players and non customers of Ebay.

However 2 modes in WF is a must for Zons :

a) Mana leech
b) Knockback

these two modes will allow you to free up some contraints in gears in area like gloves and rings.

In the absence of WF, I will pick Lycanders for the mana leech.

Once the upgrade runes are found, I will have it upgraded for better damage.

The second choice will be WWS.

Junk the ballista since you mentioned you want to kill things very fast in hell.

For realistic opinion, zon are not fast killer in hell unless fully tweaked.

My current gear is as follow :

a) WF / WWS (on switch)
b) COH
c) Vampire Gaze
d) War Traveller
e) Highlord's
f) ThunderGod
g) 1 x Raven Frost
h) 1 x Rare ring with resist / life / life leach
i) LavaGout

And yet my attack rating is only 6000+ with 80% hit ratio. This kind of hit ratio is nothing in the aspect of fast killer.

Strafezon need deep research to tweak the IAS breakpoint ie. gear tweaking.

Shaeled WF = 40 IAS
Mavina Helm = 30 IAS (+ 15 IAS)
Gloves = 20 IAS
Amulet = 20 IAS
Belt = 10 IAS

* for better belt, socket Mavina.

The above dream gear is to reach the 120 IAS final breakpoint for 9/2 strafe speed making it your definition of kill things fast in hell.*

It cost like pul? or um? for a 6ml one so it shouldnt be too hard

Don't worry too much about attack rating. Go spend a few pgems on a Demon Limb and you won't be too bad off.

All those bows will take you through the game, and if you build your char with that bow in mind will kill fast in single player games. Without upping, though, don't expect to be a killing machine in big games (you will be able to hold your own, though).

My own preference would be for Buriza - it's very effective for a strafeazon even with minimal ias (getting an additional 15% on your gear is recommended, though), and has seriously yummy mods: Pierce, freeze, big cold damage. Socket a cheap nef, and you're ready to rock (or shael if you have no ias from gear). Have wws on switch for PIs.

Otherwise, my ranking (based on physical damage output) would be:

1. Buriza
2. Goldstrike (if you can get 70 ias from gear)/ Lycander's (otherwise - damage output is almost as good, and the extra skills will also help your passives)
3. M'avinas or WWS (not really the best choices. WWS needs the upgrade to shine)

WWS for straffer is pretty good. Not as good as 9/2 wind force straffer but probably the next best thing. Buriza for multi zon is alo pretty good. I have done both. I upped both & makes a big difference. Buriza worked very well for me for pit & andy runs. Problems are physical immunes but a merc with reapers toll should help a lot there. Strength req is high for buriza but damage, 100% peirce & cold damage is nice. WWS kind of let me down a bit but that's because I am used to my WF (I maxed magic arrow & had a 9/2 strafe with maxed resists). It does save you from using a lot of skill points though in critical strike & 40% res all is hard to beat with a level 20 magic arrow for PI's as an additional gift.

Never tried straffing with buriza but I usually like speed with strafe & buriza just won't get me there. Also laying of hands gives 350% ed to demons. 350% x upped buriza's high damage in the pits = fast killing. Another nice thing is that with buriza, 95% ias is fine for multi & bow comes with 80%. The gloves will get you to the breakpoint so you can nef the bow for knockback & you have a lot of flexibility with gear since ias is not needed.

You will need a strong merc with reapers & level 17 valk.

Either char can solo hell. I would however skip the chaos sanc as iron maiden will wipe out your might merc fast. Baal runs are a pain solo without high light / fire res & absorb for souls.

You could always throw on tgods for the souls though.

Xenthe, your dream gear has 15% too much ias for the 120 breakpoint. Mavinas stinks unless it gets you to a breakpoint. Andarials vissage is way better with 8-10% LL and +2 skills.

wind force socketed 15% ias / 30% ed jewel = 35% ias
andarials vissage socketed 15% ias / 28% res cold jewel = 35% ias
laying of hands - 20% ias
cats eye - 20% ias
goldwrap - 10% ias
war travlers
raven frost
dwarf star
Chains of Honor
annihilus
tons of life & res charms plus about 12 to max damage.
Demon limb on switch for enchant (Ar boost)

120% ias total, 75% res fire, light, cold, 85% res poison, 500 dex, 788 life, +5 to all skills, 18% life leech, 8% mana leech.

Skills (not including +5 to skills) high critical strike, pierce, 20 magic arrow, 20 strafe, 12 valk, d/a/e around 50+%. (currently level 92)

note: the buriza & WWS really need to be upgraded to shine which will cost you a pul & lum. A WF is um unless 8% mana leech which is mal. 6% is plenty for hell so IMO it makes more sense to just buy a wf. You could use the WWS to get you through nm without upping. That should serve you from level 39 to 70 or so.

knockback is more important to strafers, could save your *** because of the strafe-lock.
honestly though, wf is not very expensive, do a bit of mf and you can get a 6% one easy, and 6% is all you will ever need, plenty of mana leech.
wws is very very good, try upgrading it, basically does double damage all the time, saves you the trouble of putting points into critical strike, even has 40 all resist, not that it matters on a zon, but better than nothing.
