Blizzard PvM sorc guide

Now I haven't played for over 2 years now, and just saw this email come into my mail box with your replies.
Therefor I cannot tell you if it's for or not. Can't remember.
But I can tell you that what I remember is that you could kill a lot of monsters with a Blizz sorc, especially if you have a poonage merc, and use static..
Othervise I would really suggest you to make a Paladin - they were the most fun I have EVER had in Diablo2.
Maybe except with my PvP Barbarian - that was poonage, owned allll!

I do believe you mean pawnage. "Poonage" is an entirely different topic...

Just a minor suggestion for when to allocate the skills: I think you should pump Glacial Spike at level 18. Otherwise you will have no crowd control, especially going up against those flayers in Act3. Of course, if you're getting rushed, feel free to max Ice Blast first. And I think you should max Blizzard ASAP.

I got
ice bolt / ice blast / glaciacal spike / blizzrd all four 20

1 frozen orb / Shiver Armor 1
Next: Teleport &(pre)

now my mana goes fast away, should i do warmth a bit, cold mast & warmt, or only cold mast ?

and pre: Frozen Armor 1 (prerequisite)
Frost Nova 1 (prerequisite)

Re: Blizzard PvM sorc guide

more than 1 point in Warmth is probably a waste.

Also how about Spirit Runeword on a 4 os Broad Sword (no dex req)
this gives:
+2 all skills
+55% FHR
+ 25 - 35 FCR
+ 22 Vita (44 life)
+ 89 -112 mana
+3 - 9 magic absorb

And the runewords are a joke: Tal, Thul, Ort, Amn. You usually find Thul and Amn before you find a 4 os sword. Tal and Ort u get from quest 2 in act 5.

Why isnt this mentioned btw? At least for the very poor. Also how about Spirit shield? you do need 156 Str, but you can equip some str charms (+5), ring of the atlas (+20)... I dunno, but it gives the same as the weapon plus 35 resist all (except fire).

Just saying...

Re: Blizzard PvM sorc guide

the only part i have a problem with is you skip frost armor and go straight to shiver armor do you mean one on just frost or frost then shiver

Re: Blizzard PvM sorc guide

I want to just add,
how is it after lv24.. there are 2 tyrael points you put to,
if that's not a typo, how do u do that?
Sorry, I'm new to this game and don't know much about it.

Thanks, I prefer to message me privately. Thanks a lot!

Re: Blizzard PvM sorc guide

Gain more levels and you can add more points to Blizzard, but early on there's a cap on the number of skillpoints you can invest into a skill. The formula is:

1 + (character level) - (minimum level required to attain that skill) = (maximum number of "hard" skillpoints you can spend into any skill... up until 20 points)

Edit: Or are you asking about the Tyrael points? When you complete the first quest in Act4, Tyrael will give you two bonus skillpoints as a reward - you don't need to gain any levels to access that reward, you only need to finish the quest.

Re: Blizzard PvM sorc guide

oo ok. thanks alot!

lol i was stuck on that.. i was like how do you get those 2?

Re: Blizzard PvM sorc guide

Is this guide still viable? I'm in the jungles of act 3 and i'm already lvl 24 (no replays or grinding). At this point the guide mentions the 2 points from Tyrael in act 4, but i'm no where near that. Do i still have to max Ice Blast before Blizzard?

Re: Blizzard PvM sorc guide

I wouldn't recommend following this guide word for word. It's not only dated, but also missing a lot of helpful info included in newer guides.

Honestly, you'll end up grinding whether you want to or not in Hell.

Depending on your mana, I would probably consider prioritizing blizzard - while synergies do add damage, you get more improvement to damage through direct investment - at the cost of more mana per cast.
