Blizzard PvM sorc guide

This guide isn't very good at all, it requires too much gear and is a cookie cutter, which I totally hate cookie cutter builds. Then again, over half of the duelers you will meet are blizz sorcs. Why? You must know why but if you insist on having an IQ of 40, then I will tell you. Blizz Sorcs already have aa hack, insane dmg, insane - res which is why EVERYONE uses one, and you are one of those people who suck at D2 and likes sinking to pubbie level by using cookie-cutter builds BORING! You and your friends must like to nk everyone using aa blizzard and it only gets worse w/ the AA hack, which means that you are extremely PATEHTIC!

Lol you assume everyone uses AA. Any good player will corner shoot with blizzard.
No, blizzard already has a weak form of AA on it and still nobody knows how to beat "The common Blizz" so just shut up, kid!

I've just built a cold sorc and it seems te be working very well.. until I entered hell diff. I thought I could kill those ugly cold immunes because I've maxed my cold mastery. However, this doesn't seem to work. Can anybody help me out?

Iv'e heard that you don't need to ma\x out cold mastery because at a certain lvl it will only do that dmg and no more even if you put more points into it.

Anyone else know what im talking about?

Eh sorry for bringing this thread up again... but I had two suggestions. For a PvP shield, I think a Stormshield would be a better shield than Whistans or Lidless. For the boots: perhaps Silkweaves for mana? For the Gloves, Trang-Oul's Gloves never hurt with the faster cast (if you feel like spamming... ice bolts in your case) nor the cold resists. Resists are key in dueling casters... Just a few suggestions.

now it has been ages since i have played diablo2, and i notice some of my funny spelling. now but i still know some tricky stuff. Stormshield is illegal since it has to much damage reduction i think and it has to high requirements, Silkweave is not needed because of 2 x SoJ, those gloves with faster cast is not needed .. others are better trust me i researched it .. funny this is still up.

Cold mastery doesn't break immunities in 1.10 or 1.11. There is no point of maxing it...

Cold damage does though make your damage way higher, so there is a very good reason for maxing it. It gives you great potential. Oh and what is AA?

I advise to aim lvl 27 CM : -150 coldres.

Only few monsters has higher than 50% coldres. (Mefi, monsters on the 2nd wave).

But you can put +3-4 points to CM, it won't be a very big waste. :))

BTW pure blizz sorc is very boring. :)) You can go only against ACT bosses... Very very Boring.

With other sorc you can go against ACT bosses but you can travel another places... More flexible less boring. :D

I recommend to try MeteORB or MeteBlizz sorc. But i am not sure MeteBlizz Blizzard damage is high enough i use a MeteORB with great success and have a MeteBlizz at lvl 46 (finished cause it was boring with Blizz:P)

Now I haven't played for over 2 years now, and just saw this email come into my mail box with your replies.
Therefor I cannot tell you if it's for or not. Can't remember.
But I can tell you that what I remember is that you could kill a lot of monsters with a Blizz sorc, especially if you have a poonage merc, and use static..
Othervise I would really suggest you to make a Paladin - they were the most fun I have EVER had in Diablo2.
Maybe except with my PvP Barbarian - that was poonage, owned allll!

horpeti i play with my blixx sorc outside of act bosses and she owns al you need is infinity...

I want to refer to another thread, but I cannot remember it's location.
The thread was about infinity and it's ability to break immunities..

The problem is that infinity doesn't break that many immunities.. actually it only break a small group of monsters, and I would advise anyone to get Fire/Cold tree skill for a sorc..

hmmm not sure if nebody posted this, but the built is just based on a 1 sorc attack-cold, what spell would u then use against monsters if they were cold resist?

My point was that your merc should kill the monsters then,
but even with fortitude it takes time - for this build to actually unfold itself at it's greatest you would need an merc with BotD and Fortitude ...

But then - trust me the merc will own ;)

A little suggestion, I'm pretty sure others have told you this, but you only need around 8 or so hard points into cold mastery. Hopefully, people will most likely attain +9 skills to get the -100% resistance. Since its somewhat useless if you reduce their resistance when the max is -100%.

Other then that, I have a sorceress thats currently 68 and is beating everything up except for the occasional cold immune...

(This guide is kind of out dated)
But yes I know.. and would add some nice charts if I wanted to continue this guide..
