Um...quick Q about this build. How viable is Lightsaber, not as an end game, but mid game weapon?

Quick question for the group - I found a Swordback Hold shield (50% OW). This seems like a great low level shield for this build. Any downside or other low level shields better? Thx

I used Swordback with Toothrow for a while.. so sure go for it.

On low level shield there is also :
Sigons Set Shield (Huge block and +1 skill)
Mosers (Those 2 sockets are useful for others things than resistance)
Umbral Disk (Blind Target)

but Swordback is definatly better. Level 15 I mean come on how low level can you get such a good stat as : 50% open wounds... it's a keeper cause the damage increase as your level do. (Note : see open wounds section of the build. 3.1 I beleive it is.. or right around there)

I would like to start my post by saying hello to everyone. And secondly I would like to congradulate Ritslev for bringing such a wonderful experience to the Diablo II community. For some months I have been playing with this build. I use all of the equipment that Ritslev has listed in his guide except for a few that I have been unforunate to obtain. These are the Jah rune(which is to be put into the sockted StormLash), and the Lightning facet jewels. My Blade Fury Assassin now level 86 is doing quite well, but is also experiencing some difficulty in getting some kills in Hell difficulty in the Worldstone Keep 2 and so forth. I was wondering if not having ITD in the build currently is what is truely holding me back.

There is no doubt if you are using the gear I have recommended, and the stats .. you are missing out with the lack of Jah.
You see my build doesn't focus on AR, not a whole lot at least. The lack of Jah means that you will have a very low AR and that will definately be holding you back a little... With ITD you will hit those within 5 levels of your own level 95% of the time. Without ITD you will be able to see your chance to hit, by using your normal attack .. there the attack rating will be shown.
I feel it is a great mistake that Blade Fury doesn't add AR% along with its skill points, making people invest more heavily in it. As is it's a 1 point wonder, and that is a shame as well.
I have a few recomendations, till you are so fortunate that you can get a Jah..
The no brainer :
-Test out Angelic Ring and Amulet along with Demon Blimbs Enchant.
-Test out Mohim-Oak Amulet and once more Demon Limb Amulet.

The more drastic :
-Invest in Dexterity. I have personally started to do this .. my Vitality is 300, and now I'm investing the remaining points in Dexterity.
-Drop Stormlash... Yes you heard me say it. Drop it.. and put on a Cresent Moon Runeword till you're able to get a Jah. The reason I say this is cause it has truely awesome stats and one of those is the ITD. Ye sit has less damage than the Lash, but if you hit 4/5 of your blades with Stormlash and 5/5 with your Cresent Moon then they will have balanced out. It doesn't take a lot to balance.

Lastly .. the crazy one :
- Sell your mother for a Jah rune.

I just wanted to post to verify that this build can indeed solo Dclone. Did it last night with her to get my first Anni.

Took Dclone down in about 2 minutes. My lightning trapper could never scratch him. But my FurySin made short work of him.

Low (Middle) levels equipment

Hi all,
I just want to share mu 'expirience' with my 30 clvl BF sin
I will mention only the part of equipment that I am currently using, but I think with that equipment I will be able to reach clvl 68 in /players 8. Why 68? Because I will be ready to arm Fleshripper (this is the best weapon that I have for the moment).
So about equipment - I am using Hsarus full set and Cleglaw's sword and gloves.
Main bonuses from Hsarus are : +5 def per clvl and 10AR per clvl
The bonuses from Cleglaw's Tooth - 50% Deadly Strike 30% Bonus to Attack rating + (1.25 Per Character Level) +1-123 To Maximum Damage (Based On Character Level)
The bonuses from Cleglaw's Pincers - Slows Target by 25% Knockback + (10 Per character Level) 10-990 Attack Rating (Based On Character Level) (2 Items)
I think this is a good combination fo low (middle) levels.

Well then it looks like I defenitly need a Jah rune then I sure I can aquire one soon. I just hope its sooner then later.Oh I also have one final question regarding Duress runeword instead of Rattlecage. What would possibly be the best type of armor to put that in? Perhaps an Archon Plate?

What I think.. I think you got the the right idea about things.

Fleshripper is a great weapon, just don't expect it to carry you all the way through Hell diff. NM NP. Early hell NP.. late hell, well it's effeciency slows down dramatically but it's still a great weapon.

Jep this is a Clone Killer build too. You must have played it smart... well done and congratulations. My Furysin doesn't have an Anni. Maybe I should consider muling one to her... I've avtually been so greedy for damage that I've prioriticed a 1-40 charm over anni .. lol...

Well I put my runes into a Dusk Shroud, but that was purely for looks. She looks like she is wearing helmet, shield and weapon and no armor... really cool.

But any of the following armors will do in my book :
Dusk Shroud
Scarab Husk (This one is my preferance.. it' looks awesome)
Wire Fleece
Archon Plate.

High defence and light on the stama drain. Best of all the all look pretty damn cool on the Sin.

I'm a big fan of Scarab Husks as well, even though my duress is in a Wyrmhide. I was desperate for ANY 3 socket elite light armor, and that was the first one I came across. It was superior, too, so I got a little extra defense on it. I don't think it really matters too much what armor it's in as long as it's a light elite armor. The higher defense on whatever it is, the better. But they're all so close in defense at that level, it hardly matters.

ive got a level 76 furysin and ... well this build worked well for normal and most of NM... but past act 3 nm i just kinda gave up i have no doubt that it would work with the right equipment.

id say the worst thing about this build is trying to find the equipment. its such common stuff that people simply throw it out or give it to n00bies who hoard it forever (like me). i have made numerous posts in normal and assassin and trade channels, like "Searching for Gores, Guillaumes, 3 Sock Zerker Axe, 3 sock archon plate, stormlash! /w *beavercheese if u have!" and lets see... about 3 replies. these replies were "I have gores. WuG?", "i have gores! meet me in game -----" and "i have 3 soc zerker! wut u have?"

my rich b.net friend offered to give me stuff, but he throws rattlecages, stormlashes, and zerker axes out.

wheres the best place to find this stuff? im imagining cows for the socketed stuff, Nm baal for guillaume, and hell travincal/pit/pindle runs for everything else.

goddamit, i left my account for 10 days and my mules expired. otherwise i MIGHT have been able to grab that zerker. curze blizzards timers!

There is no doubt that the hardest part of this guide is the hunt... for equipment. You're too right that this gear is usually thrown away or people who keep it want elite for it, which is ludicris. I am though sorry that you gave up.
The guide was made cause I got tired of all the elite gear. I got tired of having to be level 9X to do anything serious in this game. So while yes it's hard as hell to get the equipment, it is a customizable build, and there aren't that many of those around.
Meaning not many builds leave you with 60+ skills to use as you please at level 70.

Personally I -RARELY- goto the channels. I create games instead.
Game names which I have used :

N Stormlash
NEth3SocKCrypSword

etc...
while in these games I just do runs for XP and for items... I max stay in a game for 5 min.
While this as been lucky for me and I've not had to wait long I have also paid over price at times... to me I don't really care, for example my 3 Socketed Etheral Cryptic Sword I paid a Stormshield for.... he was laughing all the way to the bank, but I was pleased... see this Cryptic Sword with 3 Sockets was worth it to me.. I still have it and today I wouldn't trade it for Enigma or what ever is high price these days.

That people 'throw' away Stormlash kinda amaze me but ok.. If anyone find an Etheral Stormlash.. feel free to throw it at me... I mean I'll even thank you for it.

Note : At times I take a break from the Fury as well but I always end up playing her again.. We all need a break/pause... maybe you just hit that place...

I sincerely doubt anyone throws away a Stormlash... ever. Even if they can't use it, it's very valuable in the trade community. You must be thinking of something else. Seriously. That's like throwing away a HoZ.

I'm thinking of starting a FurySin Eq. Charity Mule, where every time I find something a FurySin could use, I'll throw it on that mule. Then anyone who needs it could just PM me or something and I'll check my mule.

yep. this "friend" of mine is what you would call "loaded." hes in my study hall, so i talk to him personally. well, he and his friends all share the same few accounts... so its almost always being used. i asked him if he would trade me a stormlash and a 3 socket ethereal berzerker axe... and he laughed. he just says "why the **** do you want those? they suck. I throw em away." god, if he ever needs to throw away stormlashes, guillaumes helm, and shael, um, and tir runes and 3 socket berzerker axes, ill take em any day.

oh, i already have the strength, im not particularly stringent when it comes to stats like strength, so do you think a 3 socket ethereal berzerker axe is good for crescent moon? is it worth the repair costs to get a superior one?

also, one question which i have not had answered yet: Does Stormlash have %chance to cast static on striking? i was lookin at it online and it said it didnt. If it doesnt, and you use one Ritslev, where do you get your static casts from?
