Sluggy said:I have a few sojs and my method went like this:
1. Run hell andy - if she does not drop a unique ring, exit game and do it again
2. If she drops a unique ring id it - if its not soj run meph and clear chaos
I need to use two PCs to do this (clear cs with hammerdin, let sorc kill D with as much mf as possible).
There have been times where I found nagel/manald off of andy and meph and then just tried to play normall killing all the unique/champions I could find but I never had that third ring drop; imo its not worth the time so after meph drops nagel/manald I'd just suck it up, go kill D, and pray a little bit before next game.
:xmas31: Funny thing is, is I did that very thing last night to find my first soj since starting again back in June. I was doing a closed game for trav runs. I close them because I put money on the ground in case I die, softcore, gotta love it. Anyway, both a nagel and manald drop in this one run. Knowing that if another unique ring drops in this game, it will have to be a soj, I kill Meph, and Andy, but no soj. So I start from act 1, looking for every boss I can find to kill. Sure enough, one of the bosses in cold plain drops the Soj. The other thing is this barb only uses about 225 mf. Maybe that helped. Still, if I have a game where I know the chances of a Soj dropping is increased because the other rings have dropped, I will definately wring that game dry for a soj.
One question tho. It used to be you could gamble for soj early one, say from 1.0-1.04 or so, then they made it so you couldn't gamble for a soj. My question, is it still that way, unable to gamble for a soj?
