Best unique weapons?

I've always wanted to build a Barbarian. Of all the character classes, they're the only one I really haven't explored. Now that I'm getting around to it, the armors are fairly obtainable, but there's a major problem with weapons. I can't afford a BOTD, nor can I see myself having one, or any other 1.10 runewords, for another year at least, barring some major TOS violations on my part.

So, besides BOTD, HOTO, and other 1.10 runewords, what are the best Barb weapons I should be shooting for?
 
If you want to go for a cookie cutter build with relatively inexpensive gear, I'd take a look at Hals Conc guide at the top of the page. However, the sheer amount of weapons for a barb make it a really, really versitile class. A lot of folks here will tell you to go with axes for the dmg/speed ratio of the B Axes. Personally I have always prefered Mace and PoleBarbs just cause you dont see too many of em. If you are interested in any uniques and play on UsWest Ladder I have a Death Cleaver Beserker axe and a Stone Crusher legendary mallet that I will let go of real cheap (either an Um or a Pul for both).
 
eth death cleaver = severe pwnage in melee w/ conc (this is the ONLY time I advocate an axe and thats cuz this thing rocks!). I suppose even a non eth one is alright, provided it has %ed (365%+). Socket it with a Lo rune and ur in business. Also, a godly barb is THE most expensive char class around, period. It involves way more than eth botds... definately good advice to go with hal's conc barb and buy this guys death cleaver off him. A ww barb will drain all your funds... don't try one unless ur a) rich or b) willing to sell all your other chars items just to have a barb.
 
assuming this is pvm, there are many choices available. i go with crescent moon legend swords, as they are very cheap, fast, and easy to make, along with itd so you don't have to worry about ar. i made one relatively quickly when beta first started.

i currently have around 15 cruel weps i made using flawless, normal and chipped gems. i just made a cruel 2s col blade. seems to be around 30-50 cubes per cruel.

i also traded for ww-friendly rares. i lost a 300+ed 35 ias legend sword to a realm down.

passion would be my last choice, even though it is cheaper to make than crescent moon (only lem instead of um.)

shopping is also an option, although difficult to get a wep fast enough.

just make sure it is range 3, 35 total ias, and at least 150 damage for a 1h. for 2h non-sword, you need 60 total ias, range 3-5, and (i would say) 300+ damage.
 
These days with everyone running the pit IK armors are cheap (um usually) and its not to hard to get the rest of the set, especially if you have another mfer. So i would suggests going with a ww IK build as it is reasonably cheap, yet quite effective. Basically, IK is the best bang for your buck when it comes to barbs these days.
 
I agree with rivers, IK set is by far the best set available for you money. Also, it is VERY good, I think it has the best stats out of all the other elite sets.

And the sexy arua makes u look gg.

First to respond to other suggestions :
eth cleaver - Unlikely to afford if can't afford BOTD.
IK - not unique.
Razors Edge - great axe but range is only 1 so not so great for WW.

The winner by a mile is a Death Cleaver, even with the lowest ed it is still the best.
Second would be upgraded Butcher's Pupil. It has all the good mods, average damage 187 (which actually beats Death Cleaver !!).
It is Indestructible, repairing is a real pain.
It needs 15 IAS jewel for top speed WW.
It only has range 2, but the only decent 1H unique in the game with top WW speed and range 3 is Death Cleaver, so it still ranks second.
It's also pretty common so finding a perfect one is easy.

You could also use Butchers at level 39, upgrade it at level 52, then use death cleaver from level 70.
 
Yah... death cleaver rocks! Especially eth ones.

I have a 278 ed eth DC and went head to head with a 415ed eth botd ww barb. Even though I lost the duel... going 3/7 was still pretty decent... considering the barb probably has better max/ar/life sc and skill. He also had a max def eth stone armor comparing with my upgraded toothrow that was still unsocketed.

I really gone into ww barb only a few weeks back. I will seek a rematch as soon as I get Duress in a superior sacred or superior archon armor.
