Best place to find runes?

Best place to find runes?

I need to find an amn rune, or 3 thul runes to make one so I can make "honor". (I know, they are very low level runes) However, it seems that whenever you are looking for something, you never seem to find it. Where will I have the best chance of runes dropping in the least amount of time? I'm at the end of NM, and unfortunately killed the cow king so I can't spend time killing cows. I've found a lot at the arcane sanctuary but that takes a while, and pindle dropped some good ones, but he seems to have dried up lately.

Where to try next?

Well the Arcane Sanctum might be a good idea but you have to kill the specters over ground, maybe the countess or I can just give you one if you want.
 
Your best option is to push to hell countess, and then run her, or even NM countess, as NM can drop up to Io, but your chances are better for hell. Also, keep any runes you find (i keep Tals and up) and cube them up, eventually you'll get your amn.

Thanks for the offer, but I'd rather play a while and try to find one if I can. I'll try the countess for a while in NM, see what happens

PS this site amazes me! Not even 5 minutes and replies already! Best thing that happened to me in D2 was finding this site!
 
The best place has to be a minion of the assasin. ;) :D

That, or running countess, but remember to do it at players 1, it achieves the best results. :)
 
Just goes to show that no matter how little social life you have there will always be someone with even less than you :lol: .

I've been running the NM Countess for a while with my HC sorc and she's coughing up some pretty nice runes. I get Amn or Sol or so at least once every 4 or 5 runs, it seems like. (It's also easier to run her on NM than on Hell just because the dungeon levels are so much smaller.)
 
This site rocks when you need help! 2 Runs, got my amn and more. I'm glad I found out about it! I try to put time in my "real life" so I don't read up on all the intricasies of D2. Sadly (almost) :lol: since I found this site I have suddenly become slightly or maybe more addicted!!!! From what I read here, I guess I need to blame it on Durf!

Ermm so i went to run the countess for a short while after posting in this thread. Tried my 3 sorcs, the CL one had the best route. 1 Amn, 1 Sol, many lesser runes later, Ist. OMFG this is .09, wasn't hell countess' max rune drop Ist?

My best rune drop to date. Its Durf's fault!!! :flip:
