Berserk and Warcry?

Another question about Warcry, since I've never actually used it: are there creatures that it doesn't work on? That is, are some creatures, e.g. superuniques, bosses, stunproof?

it does have a very low chance to work on any unique monster and on champions.

the very low can be seen as not working at all, i think its like 5 or 10% chance only.

with uniques that is no problem, when you use warcry, all their minions are stunned, so its just you vs him.

the champions, and the only exception on the uniques, the council (where you have multiple uniques) are the only things that can cause a problem. most champion packs you can beat with just retreating a bit before you get surrounded and using a rejuv or 2. champion dark souls are truly a problem.

the council i always just try to get only one of the uniques at a time, (the normal ones you can almost ignore since they can be stunned anyways) this however does not always work. In that case you also just need to retreat a bit and use some rejuv.

i did the council many times for mf, after champion dark souls, they are the hardest thing around, yet still not a problem. a few rejuvs and a little carefull playing were enough to stay out of life danger. It took me about a minute or so to kill them.

Here's another question for avid Warcry users related to this question.

But that's why I asked about Warcry. How are you getting PUMMELLED if everybody else is stunned all the time?

What do you do in the later chapters, mainly 5 where you face melee monsters and ranged attackers at the same time? Warcrying the melee while having ranged attackers target you doesn't seem like a good time to be zerking. Also a number of ranged attackers seem to split up resulting in a few out of range for warcry.

Good, this is helpful. This is the kind of thing I want people to point out.

Would using Taunt be good enough to take care of this situation?

WackenOpenAir, your advice has been very helpful, too. I didn't know about the lower chance to stun on those kinds of monsters. I will definitely have to take that into account.

another point is that if you are surrounded and someone does get a hit in, it can be hard to get off another warcry. you see the skill animation and lose the mana but noone is stunned. i guess better fhr might remedy this. it isnt a big problem at all tho as long as you're careful and not too greedy (ie "oh just 1 more attack before i do the next warcry, hes almost dead!")

i only have level 6 warcry and i can get in 3 hits in between my warcries. this is enough for me tho since i use conc and can easily leech the mana back from all my warcries. i can see a berserker having poblems with mana tho.

i never have problems not getting my warcry. it just always works, and in the cases i am too late, only the strongest monsters in the game can cause a real danger (minions of destruction) other monsters just cost you a rejuvanation potion.

ranged i found no problem at all. usually, if there are just a few, like 4 or so, it is anoying when they keep shooting at you while you are killing 15 mellee guys, then i taunt them.

If there are a real lot of em, i run up to the mellee guys, warcry them, then run up to the ranged guys and warcry those. sure they want all be stunned, but most of them usually. this gives me time to take out most of those ranged guys. a merc helping is very usefull here as he often keeps the mellee guys busy when they get out of their stun. This situation often happens at shenk and with the caster knights.

I would think taunt may be a Warcry players best option for some situations. Black Souls come to mind. They tend to blast you once as a whole group ( Don't get caught with your pants down there! :innocent: ) then split up going all over the place. Just cross your fingers that a whole group is not within attacking range when you arrive to Warcry a melee group.

The way I see it is taunt as many as you can over to you, then warcry them.
