Azurewrath or GF?

Hi guys ive just recently comeback to diablo and want to make a conc/ww barb, i made one before and i used grandfather, which did nice damage, but was a bit slow for my liking :(.

What id like to know is that some people have told me that azurewrath is as good, if not better than grandfather, because of its speed and extra elemental & magic dmg. I think i would agree with them but i dont have an azurewrath at the moment to test it out.

Do you guys think i should get one? or is there a new affordable runeword that i can get, i really cant afford things like botd, greif etc, best runes ive got are a few ums.

Id prefer a 1 handed weapon that can hit the fastest bps on both conc and ww, doesnt really need to be a sword.

Thanks for any help you can give :)

A few ums... What about an oath runeword? It requires only a mal and an eth 4 os weapon. In a nice 2 handed ethereal sword it would deal more damage than a grandfather and be a lot quicker, having 50% built-in increased attack speed. It also have prevent monster heal wich is nice in pvm...

Wow thats quite a good runeword... That must be one of the new 20 or so runewords they added while i was away, thanks for that :). ok so what weapon would be best for that then? I preferably want it in a 1 handed weapon as im not sure ill be able to hit the bps with a 2handed in 1 hand. Also do you know how much an ethereal 4sock weapon costs?

thanks alot

Edit: i just noticed the 210% - 340%ed varying stat on the runeword lol  any idea how much a decent one would cost already made?

P.s I would still like to know if azurewrath is better for my needs than GF, thanks.

Its hard to say, since i never played a conc barb and have no idea what are the break points...

Anyone knows more about this? Isnt an highland blade good for an oath runeword trying to reach last conc bp? I feel like ive heard that before but im not sure.

As for how much a 4 os ethereal weapon is worth, it for sure depends of the weapon type. A berserker axe is worth a lot, probably a mal or an ist. Cheaper options (which may be better in your case since u could use it 2 handed) are highland blade, balrog blade, cryptic sword? (help me out, conc babrs out there!).

About the azure versus GF holy debate of the greatest, i dont know much... How much enhanced damage does a maxed conc skills gives? The higher %enhanced damage u get from skills, the better GF will be over azure. Lemme take a look at the conc skill on arreat summit... hmrmhr 250%. Lets say it is 400% with weapon mastery and str bonus. This is pretty high, so obviously GF would deal more damage per hit. But azure swings very quick.

Equipment ias does work with conc right? If so u could wear an highlords wrath ammy (20%) and ias gloves(20%). With a shaeled grandfather you would reach 60%. With the collosus blade having a base speed of 5, it brings you to -55%. And u still have a 3 sockets room (helm armor and shield) to stick 15% ias jewels in, in case u dont reach a fast enough breakpoint.

Also, whats the enhanced damage % modifier on the GF? It can varies from 150 to 250, which is a lot. A perf GF dishes a lot more damages than a low one... If yours is low, i would use the azure and it would free a lots of slots for equipments since u wouldnt need much ias.

thanks for the nice reply. about hitting the same bp as an azure in 1 hand, grandfather in 2 hands has different bps than it does in 1hand, it takes alot of ias to reach the fastest bp with it, these are the bps in fps for a collosus blade in 1 hand.

# 16: 0 ias
# 15: 6 ias
# 14: 15 ias
# 13: 24 ias
# 12: 39 ias
# 11: 58 ias
# 10: 89 ias
# 9: 147 ias

As you can see im not really gonna get 147 its too much sacrifice, even 10fps requires quite a bit of ias.

ill try get hold of an oath, but till then i think ill stick with azurewrath, but that damage info is nice to know thanks for that. :)
