Aura Stacking

I know that certain auras, like Conviction, don't stack, but instead use the highest-level one in effect. However, this seems to be more for those which are a 'continuous effect', like Conviction, Might, etc. I was wondering about those auras that 'pulse' every so often, such as Holy Freeze and Sanctuary. If there are more than one of these in effect, does only the highest level one pulse, or do they both pulse? For example, can I push undead back twice as fast by using Lawbringer on a paladin with Sanctuary already up?

I'm positive only one occurence of the aura would be active, which one I don't know though. I suspect it would alternate between the pally aura and the item aura.

Where you can get aura stacking is with multiple items that give the same aura. In this case the levels add. Examples are prominent with the 'ladder realms-only' runewords. A build I spotted on the pally forum uses 2 Dragon runewords with Hand of Justice to achieve a lvl 44 Holy Fire. The pally uses Conviction to negate resists and the pulses kill all. Apparently it is a good PvP build.

These aren't really practical for SP though, as the runes are too rare even if you do play with the RWM.

I know for a fact that a Might aura and Holy Freeze are both "active" at the same time on a single character. I will leave it to the reader to determine just how I know this...*chuckles*

Clarifying my earlier post, i'm pretty sure you can only have one of each aura up, but using items its possible to use multiple auras at once. Eg A pally could use 'doom' axe, 'dream' helm, 'dragon' shield and have holy freeze, holy shock and holy fire all active, plus one more different aura from his own (eg conviction) but he couldn't use holy fire again.

I'm a little curious about this too.

Say if you have a Dream helm and drop 20 points into Holy Shock, will you still pulse out a level 35 Holy Shock if your skill isn't active?

Only, if the aura is active(is on your right click) would you have 35, otherwise it would be 15, you can test it with insight and a pally.

Are you sure, toedsritter? I was under the impression only item auras stack, and do no stack with a "native" aura. Otherwise, you could double dream, max holy shock, and have a level 50 Holy Shock with no +skills.

I am pretty sure with stuff like holyshock only the items aura stacks , check the paladin forum and in the guides there should be a dual dream guide :xmas30: .

So putting points in holyshock is a waste if using a dream helm.
