Anyone else have problems with D2 after installing Windows Service Pack 2?

I have to go now , so wont be able to reply to any messages till 2moro.

If it still wont install, then if you feel comfortable with uninstalling and re-installing components

Then uninstall your video card , reset your computer reinstall the drivers from the new ones you downloaded.

If the drivers are wrong, it wont work, so then just use your original CD, therefore it is vital that u have your original cd, just in case the new drivers are not correct.

If you dont feel comfortable with this process, or dont have the cd , then I reccomend that you email the manufacturer, on the website their should be some contact details.

If none of the above works, then load diablo, hit the windows key, when you are looking at the error message press "Print Screen"

Open up outlook, and write an email message to the video card manucfacturer, tell them the problem and press "Paste" this will paste the error message in outlook then email it to the supplier, they will make some reccomendations.

ok i dont see any conflicts and i dont have any of the CDs for the video card.

I think your best bet is to email the video card manufacturer and tell them that u installed service pack 2 , and c if they have a new version of the driver for your video card.


The driver u downloaded might just be for the most recent version of your video card, u might have an older version of the card, which isnt compatable with the new software version.

Friggin Microsoft, always changing stuff!!!!

Service Pack 2 only offers u better security n stuff, maybe uninstall that? if u downloaded that huge file, just put it in a safe place and reinstall service pack later, when the drivers are available for your video card

I went into system restore and restored my computer back to what it was before i installed SP2 and now D2 works fine. Thanks again for all your help and if you are ever on USEast ladder gimme a holler!

you should have tryed to run video test in diablo options, if you install anything new, runing a video test could fix the problem

edit: also running this test could tell you whats wrong
