A spam filter exists as far as I know; it works by blocking messages which contain certain phrases (names of the shops) - you just need to update a list.
I dont know if it is safe since I have never used it; I assume blizzard bans for it (but they dont cut the spam bots for some reason... and it would probably be quite easy to do this, since diablo is not a p2p game).
For some reason, blizzard never made such a tool (it would allow them to make money after all?).. like they never made a way to filter/search the list of games (and this is somehow possible too).
But look what did they do with starcraft; the battle.net 2.0 is even worse than the old one.
