Regarding the changing players settings...in most tournaments it's allowed with the exception of killing things in an area at one players setting then changing the setting to pop chests, which is just cheap!
Personally, I've done everything on /players 8 except act bosses. From memory I did Andy on /players 3, Duriel on /players 3 (or perhaps 1, but I think it was 3), Meph was /players 5 and Diablo on /players 1.
We'll see what happens if/when I get to Baal, but I think my summons will kick butt by then, so I'll probably do the entire act 5 on /players 8, including the finale.
Reupdating the table with my changes from last night.

If you plan on playing the entire game at p8, I think you're crazy, but I hope you make it and wish you the best of luck. As far as playing on p1, and opening chests on p8, you're certainly allowed to do that (I feel it will add too much time to an already very long game you're probably having) because I don't feel it will give you much of an advantage. Just because I'm allowing it, doesn't make it any less cheesy however.

Anyhow, I didn't have work today, and after spending forever cleaning my apartment, I'm finally moved into my new one and am plodding through act3 on p8. Very slow going, but very good xp (which I need if I'm ever to kill meph).

I've never had a NDE in Act 1 Norm before, ever.
Both of my characters so far have been nearly killed numerous times on before the catacombs.
It's insane.

Hahaha, thats only act 1! you've got 14 more to go, and I find they don't get any easier. I believe this is why jiansonz came back for more, again, he seems to like challenges and this tourney is certainly full of them.
I'm hoping someone can kill hell baal this time around. Insane Wayne made it to hell before, but didn't quite get that far.

The key to this tourny is staying away from situations where your equipments durability can be lowered. Range is good. Close up is bad.
Wish I would have known that before starting a barb first time around. This Druid is just breezing through this.

Regarding the /players thing, personally I'm here for the challenge, so keeping it on /8 (not looking forward to Durial!) I was a little worried when I got to Andy, but my wolfs handled themselves well, only his poisen spray killed them off...got around that by casting my pets at different spots around here...and I got a (albeit poor!) Nagelring for my trouble :grin:

Druid is now level 6.
I got lucky and found an experience shrine just outside of the rouge camp. That + /players 8 = level 5 before I even entered the den of evil.

started new guy. doing verry well just went in 2hours to act2.
btw dont know anymore who said it, but someone said you could max be lvl 18 when going to andy. well I was lvl 20. didn't rerun any areas because I did act1 from start to finish in one time. did have 3 exp shrines.

That is the only reason I could even get to Act 2.
The main problem was with items breaking since you had to be tanking.
A Singer barb might work, though.

You can actually get to 23-24 with (very) lucky XP shrines with /p8. An early XP shrine in the den of evil can get you to 5 or 6 with ease. An XP shrine in one of the holes, or the passageway you have to go through to get to the dark wood can get you a few extra levels as well.
The biggest thing I have found would be an XP shrine right before you enter the church area with the named skeleton mage, or, right next to the smith. I remember killing the smith (I forget his name) along with all of his cronies+a few named guy in the area and getting about 4 levels at level 16.

I've noticed several people are giving updates but not updating the table, so I assume that these individuals don't know how that works, I'll try to explain.Click the Quote button in the lower right corner of the last post that contains a table. Then you will want to remove the quote tabs. These tabs will look like "quote" and "/quote", where the " is really a [ or ] character. You must leave the code tabs alone however. Then update your information in the table and click the Post Preview button below the text box. This will show you how your post will look, and allow you to correct any spacing problems that may have appeared. Then click the Submit Reply button to create your post with the updated table.
Hopefully I'll get some time to play tonight...
