ACC Trouble

So I joined a game where the host told me he wanted to know what my rank was. So i asked him how do i check? He told me something about /dnd *rank account Password. So i made a private game and did that but all it said was Do Not Disturbed is now engaged.

I then logged out and the next time i logged in it said my password was incorrect.

Anyone know why?

I'm afraid you've just been scammed, typing /dnd activates Do not Disturb mode which sends a pre-written message to anyone who whispers you, in your case your account and password. The other person then whispers you, gets your password and changes it, after which he transfers all your items to his account.

If you registered an e-mail to your account, you will have to try and recover your account using account recovery and create a new password. It is likely however that all your items have been stolen now.

There is a sticky somewhere on these forums that will inform you of most scams on bnet.

Yup just logged back on and now all my items are gone, all 121 hrs worth of them........................... God I hate this game.

you had 121 HR of wealth and you fell for a dumb *** scam like that...where did you get your stuff...ebay? did you just start playing yesterday?

hate yourself...don't hate the game...it was you that gave him your account/pass.

He probably meant 121 high runes, since you probably won't have anything worth stealing if you've only been playing for 121 hours. Unless like superdave said, he eBayed all his stuff.

dude
people try to do this thing all the time
in a way i feel for you cause id hate to lose all my godly gear
but then again it could of been easly avoided by having "street smarts"
read up on diablo in your free time you will learn about all the scams and everything
that way next time you can warn otehrs of what is going on when someone says that
btw if your playing ladder what do you think the ladder is lol
ITS A RANKING SYSTEM
go there ifyour like lvlv 87+ check your characters ranks you may be there

Except he didn't think he was giving his password out. He didn't know the other person was going to see it.

Look on the bright side at least--you'll never fall for this again.
