A thought for reasonable rich player

Would such an investment in ES work for a Melee sorc - well, for a Kingslayer one, actually?

The main problem with ES Melee Sorc are the mana burn monsters, which exist a lot in Hell difficulty. Even with a huge mana pool, a simple stike from one of these will drain all your mana!...
I think mana burn its bugged since it dont work like it's said in Arreat Summit (somethink like 2x the monster's damage, i think).

A kingslayer sorc with points in the masteries and enchant should do some crazy damage with vengeance!....

The different types of damage reduction are applied in this order:

1) XvX penalty (for example Player vs. Player = -5/6)
2) Sorceress Energy Shield
3) Necromancer Bone Armor and/or Druid Cyclone Armor
4) Integer DR/MDR
5) Percentage resists (including DR%)
6) Percentage absorb
7) Integer absorb

(Note that -%ED from skills like Weaken and Taunt are in the damage formula of the attacker)

So %DR doesn't help that much with ES.

Here is a slight clarification:

1) XvX penalty (for example Player vs. Player = -5/6)
2) Sorceress Energy Shield : (non-poison elemental and physical)
3) Necromancer Bone Armor (physical only) and/or Druid Cyclone Armor (non-poison elemental only)
4) Integer DR/MDR
5) Percentage resists (including DR%)
6) Percentage absorb
7) Integer absorb

The ES + integer DR build works much better than Bone Armor/Cyclone Armor builds because it can reduce fire, lightning, cold and physical damage (and perhaps magic as well, I'm not sure), whereas BA or CA only deal with physical or elemental damage.
