A lightning Javazon: The Hardcore project

Re: A lightning Javazon: The Hardcore project

If both your LF Amazon and your friends poison necro have decent gear you're going to race through the game. You Valk is going to be trailing behind pretty much all the time.

Then again, I can't really think of anything more useful to spend the points in - you don't need more synergy or passives - except for a few points in Pierce.

I have another idea, but this one is for your friend: instead of Revives, let him invest in Dim Vision. That will give you all the safety you need: it eliminates all possible threats in the game (dolls, gloams, vipers ...). If your friend has max Dim Vision the range willl be about 2 screens. That means he needs to cast it once in every new area and all monsters will be blinded. Obviously when you cast Lower Resist the DV goes away, but you can do that selectively because LR has a small radius, while the remaining monsters in the area won't bother you. And for most monsters you won't even need LR because Lightning Fury and Poison Nova do huge damage (assuming you have a bit of gear).

For bosses you can use Clay Golem and a 1-pt Valk as tanks. CS will get any boss down pretty quickly.

Conviction doesn't lower poison res - only fire/cold/lightning. So Infi doesn't benefit the necro - but it's still useful. Equip the other merc with an Insight. Both use Prayer mercs - the Prayer auras work cumulative.

An upped GA isn't great armor because it's very heavy. Viper is great because it's so light (the rest of your gear can be light too). CoH and Shaftstop are excellent as well.

Re: A lightning Javazon: The Hardcore project

erm.... why forti on LF zon?

treachery wins my heart only because its pretty cheap and 45% IAS should double your throwing speed, making your LF nearly double damage ( with double mana abuse )
GA isnt that nice IMO, i even dont like armour it self :whistling: and thinking of middly price, Viper is very nice with res / +skills.
you cant go wrong with rare cirlet, i like them, but Griffons with -res helps to kill LI way faster then shako.
Shako vs Gaze: gaze wins. it got nice DR with other sexy mods such as ML + LL, if i am to chose between them, i ll go with gaze.
Hel in SS = lower req, it saves points for NOT maxing block ( imho hc zon = MB as a must ) and it does saves quite a lot of points, but if you running low on res, i d go with pdiamond ( cheaper ) or um ( more expencive )

valkie is nice meet shield, at lvl 17 it spawns with "cruel" suffix ( prefix? ) and actually can do some damage. but i found that " a lot of damage " not that big, and jab works faster ( unless in CS jabing obv mage ¬¬, but then 1pt in psn should solve it :D )

BKC:

Haha, yes, faith/pride can be quite hefty for a first char. And if we are talking hefty, I might as well get my hands on a Infinity. I think that would be more appropriate considering the awesome amount of elementalish damage we will whip out. Conviction lowers poison res right?

The reason i mentioned faith and pride is that i assumed your buddy will use lower resist curse (so you boost his skellies and your damage even further with pride/faith + lower resist) while infinity will only boost the elemental damage :) (not the poisons)

Anyways its a long shot and a very expensive one aswell... i am glad to see that you choose for the valk way (solo can be fun!!) as far as i know the valk will not benefit from +skill from items (for the valk itself yes, but not in dodge avoid etc) but i could be very very wrong here!

Re: A lightning Javazon: The Hardcore project

Ed from Russia: This build requires a min of +4 all (or passive) skills. That alone will bring pierce to a 50% chance, and after that the % per skills is lowered rapidly. So if I get + 1-3 more to all or passive skills all those points invested in pierce will feel wasted, since they wont do any significant diffrance.

We have discussed Dim Vision back and forth, and I think we will do as you suggested, I think the skill will prove usefull.

“Equip the other merc with an Insight. Both use Prayer mercs - the Prayer auras work cumulative.”

Will that effect the summons and hirelings as well?

KillaMike: Forti has alot of qualites that makes a good HC armor. First of we got the resistance, followed closely by the max lightning res. Then we have the HP that the armor provides. Topped of by high def, enhanced damage (helps my leech), and physical reduced and damage goes to mana. And since it is a runeword I can put it in a armor with reasonable strength requirement. Arkanes valor adds about the same amount of health I guess, and skills on top of that, and ofc high def. But it requires a lot more to use.
Treachery, considering the price, is a good armor I have to admit. Not that HC friendly thou. But I guess I might use the armor (if I manage to get the runes) up until Hell Baalruns or something, depending on my res and other factors.

All in all, skin of the Viper seems one of the top choices, price and everything considered.

BKC: Even if the faith runeword will boost my physical damage and his minions, I think we will have to put that idea in the "maby later pile" for now. I might give this idea more thought when I am filthy rich.

ok, I figured as much. It would have been nice to have a valk using dodge and the like, but since I won't put down more than one skill in those it would be something that will make any big difference from the valks perspective.
