Speaking of Trav, I found my first 5/5 facet there last night... but it was poison, so I don't really have much use for it at the moment.

@RIP it could be your MF is too high thus inhibiting rune drops? Although I've never seen Cham yet, but I haven't been running Trav very long.
 
MF has no effect on rune drops, except stacking it too high might sacrifice killing speed which in turn yields fewer drops due to fewer kills per time unit.
Righty, I confused his post with Acrimony's response post, who was complaining about slow run-times!

Life/lvl is 1.375. Otherwise not happy with the all res roll. But now I have two non-eth Fortitudes and two eth bugged Fortitudes. No constant swapping anymore. Still 3 x Lo in runestash. Maybe try again with good def Archon Plate or spend those for Grief rolling someday.

@Grape - some nice drops. How long did it take to find all that? How much MF did you have?

I can't decide between running Pindle with ~700 MF or Ancient Tunnels with ~300... My brain says Tunnels, my laziness says Pindle...
 
@BBS_Agonistes : Like helvete said, MF has no impact on rune drops, according to great Hrus's drop guide, game is choosing between rune/gem drops and item drops on the begining, and if items were chosen, then is MF used

Still wandering, if i had just bad luck, when i did not found any rune higher then SUR (3 of them actually) in 2.4k runs, or its something else...

My Barbarians found SUR, SUR, OHM, VEX, MAL, MAL and my hammerdin found SUR, LO, OHM, IST, MAL, MAL, so it seems that FI is not making huge difference except the fact, that runs are slower and i my case more dangerous then with hammerdin...

All runs were done with p3 setting...

So question to more experienced runners - are my results average or am i doing something wrong?Gripphons results simply seem like from another world or planet to me :p
 
Obviously it depends an awful lot on your run times, but for 2.4k that sounds like a pretty decent haul unless you are very, very fast. People say runes rain down in 1.13, and compared to previous patches that's true, but it's still a fairly rare occurrence. To give you an idea, 2.5k trav runs is about the expected amount to find a Lo rune (which is rarer from trav than a Sur) for a Barbarian on player 3 with 55% Find Item. Jah is higher than that, Ber is even higher than that, and Cham is about 4.6k runs on average. In short, you still have to put in a lot of runs to get high runes, unless you hit a lucky streak.

Comparing your numbers to Gripphon's from the last RFO is just wrong. First of all, Gripphon's expected efficiency is significantly beyond anyone else's to begin with, and even with that already sizable lead in expected value the only way to describe the haul(s) he had in this past RFO are stupidly, ridiculously, nearly incredulously lucky. As in should not happen lucky.

Granted, there may be things about trav running we don't know completely and Grip's haul may not be as insanely lucky as it appears based on the numbers we have now, but it's more likely that was just a one time fluke of ridiculous luck meeting up with grip's obvious skill and practice.

Of course anyone can have good luck, but if you get a stretch that looks even half as good as Grip's last RFO haul, you've been blessed by the RNG gods in a big way. If you want to compare to someone in the RFO, LiquidClear is probably more realistic.

One last note on that final point: keep in mind that Gripphon's Travincal runs are ~18 seconds. I don't know what you're running at, but even a ~40 second barb on p3 with ~55% find item is 10+ seconds slower than him in terms of efficiency. If any of the last three generations of your family have been human, you cannot compare yourself to Gripphon.

Could you be more specific about how many runs you did with hammerdin, and how many with barb (and what is item find %)? That way I'll be able to tell you how you stand. From what I see at first hand, you were really lucky with Sur runes and slightly unlucky with Ber+ runes.

Just check last two RFO results for me specifically:
RFO results 2015
RFO results 2014

Everything was done with similarly efficient characters. And for similarly efficient characters, result on 20 hour running time varies between 65.7 and 292.6. Huge huge difference, but its like that with runes. You never know what can drop and when. My 292.6 20 hour attempt was indeed out of this world, crazy beyond belief. But same is true for 65.7 score on the other side of the spectrum. I can literally do another 20 attempts for RFO and I probably won't end with that low result or with that high result anymore. That is definition of luck in diablo - you either have it or you don't. But I believe sooner or later luck catches with anyone who is stubborn enough to search for it.
 
First thing which i have to clarify - i'm not dissapointed with my Travi results...Its still nice rune haul and yes, i remember times before 1.13, when runes were really rare...I was just wondering, if the fact, that i did not found any rune higher then SUR is normal or i had bad luck with them, thats all ;) I know that Gripphon has been extremely lucky during a RFO, but i wanted to know, if others had similiar results to mine, or better/worse...

My run times are terribly slow, compared to most people here, its partially because of my HC only status, when survival>>speed...I don't know exactly ma Barbarian times, its long time since i've used them in Travi, but my Hammerdins (average) times are around 40 seconds..I know, its terribly slow, but i like to pick up everything which can be usefull, even a little :p I did 1200 runs with my Barbarians and 1100 runs with hammerdin, so its close to 50/50

Hmm, there is one thing which i don't understand - how can run times affect rune drops from the Council?(except the fact, that more runs means higher chances to get something good)

And as a last, i've noticed, that BER runes are extremely rare compared to most other runes, not just in Travincal, but generally in 1.13, am i right there? (i've found 2 BERs compared to 15 SURs and 10 LOs in 1.13)
 
Assuming 55% item find, your expected RFO score for that amount of running for both hammerdin and barb combined is ~ 120-125, and your score based on runes you got is 114.5. So, you are slightly below expectations overall. By now expectation was to find ~1.5 Ber+ runes, you found 0. So, overall you are somewhat unlucky, but still very close to expectations.

Run times don't affect rune drops. Me doing 1000 runs is same as you doing 1000 runs.

Ber runes are indeed rare, but not that rare. If we exclude LK, Ber is third most rare rune, behind Zod and Cham. After that, according to rarity, there is Jah, then Lo, then Sur, then Vex, then Ohm... Ber is like 50% rarer than Sur in comparison, so 15 Sur runes and 2 Bers is just Sur luck or Ber unluck, nothing more. Unless we talk about LK, there Sur is among most frequent runes in Um+ region so naturally you would find plenty of those.
 
@Grape gratz on that jool. I have terrible luck with the scintillating mod (usually 11-13). I think something like CoA might be a wise choice. It has a high str req IIRC.
