+3 to skill tree suffixes?

It's hard to find a good guide to classic these days. I just learned recently that for damage modifiers the mighest classic has is Ferocious (200%), and that the Cruel (300%) suffix is LOD only.

So anyways, I've been constantly re-visitng Hell Act 4 Jamella with my clvl 84 for an hour now trying to get a Venomous Bone Wand of the Magus (+3 P&B, 20% FCR) and I've yet to even see the Venomous suffix or any other +3 skill tree suffix for that matter. Are +3 skill tree mods available on rods in classic or is it just extremely rare?

Classic doesnt have ferocious, to get 200% you need a combination of merciless 100% + kings 100%. Obviously you cant get this on a shop bought item maximum is 100% ed 150% ar on a blue magic item.

No you cant get +skill tree in classic but you can get +2 to all skills and upto 3 x +3 to a particular skill but none that are lv 30, and some like holy shield for paladin (lv24) doesnt appear.

If you want to shop for rods and scepters or staffs, i suggest you do act 2 in nightmare and visit drogan when the gate is next to him, if the map spawns the gate in the other place just remake game until it is the right place. You will get more items on the screen here and all mods that can spawn for your level will spawn here too. It is especially good for scepters as they are the ones that only take up 3 spaces and so you get more on the shop screen and have low str reqs. A little known fact is you can buy 30/20 prismatic bone shields from shops, yes it is rare but whilst shopping for rod or scepter check the armour screen and you can be lucky i have found 2 this round one 30/20 20 prisma and one 30/20 19 prisma

Wow. Okay that makes much more sense regarding the value of high dmg weapons now.

And thanks for the very informative reply. I guess there's quite a bit I need to learn (or unlearn depending on how you look at it).

On a side note, I gave up after I spent another half hour after that post. Luckily enough I found a +2 / 20 FCR wand during the process. This'll tide me over until I find an Umes (which is looking much more impressive now that I know +skill trees aren't available). Although the ultimate wand for me would be +2 / 20 FCR / +3 Bonespear / +3 Decept, I've had enough running in and out of town for a while.
