23 Runeword Search Thread

Have faith, fellow RW-testers; I e-mailed Wathombe today, and even though he didn't contact me, I'm sure it was because he couldn't get to it. If he doesn't respond by the end of this weekend, we may have to look for someone else to take on his responsibility (spreadsheet). It's a daunting task, but the only alternative would be for all of us to individually keep track of new inputs (I have to admit, I'm LAZY). What do you guys think? Lemmee know, because my 2 mules may have to turn into 4 soon to hold all the items I wanna test.

The main reason it'd be a pain taking over the spreadsheet now is because Wathombe is used to taking one input and know where else in the pages it may be necessary to record it a second time, or things like that. Just his familiarity with it is the reason changing the caretaker would be difficult at this point. Maybe he should've been grooming a cabin boy.

Bad news

Hey all, sorry I havent been around. I bought a few new games, and have concentrated on them. Then today, I got my new EQII game. So, I hate to say it, but I wont be helping out that much anymore. :( I'm sure I'll still probally log in every so often and try to help on runs on East, but thats about it. When I have time, Ill drop what runes I have either to dudspud or the mule account. Good luck all.

I get your drift, Ax, but isn't this a little demeaning to call the person that would like to help out? This ship may have come across a few bumps across the sea, but as long as people keep testing (and the runewords are undiscovered/unreleased) she stays her course.
 
hey if anyone is on i am trying ot make a classic character for rushing i know there was a few ppl intersted if anyone can help me we can get some hell forges going pretty easy.

Again, anybody interested in making a Classic rusher may want to check my helpful hints [post=2706940]here[/post].

I play a fireball/meteor/frozen orb sorceress, and I know that blizzard sorceresses also work. I am sure there are some other builds that will do the job too; good luck whatever you choose :)

Pissed me off, too. That's why I came online, to join the hunt. Why don't you join us in the futility? Just hop on a realm, create a ladder character, and post the info here. I have met several really cool and helpful people, and I could even twink you with some lower lvl stuff (I'm a scrub) to get you started (IF you are on USeast scl - acct *DudSpud).

This is partially wrong. The four words from the "bonus pack" work in non-ladder. I can tell for sure, I have a Splendor shield on one of my sorceresses. I'm not sure they work out of the realms though.

It still is true that the 23 new ones are ladder-only.

your system clock is set to a future date, this makes the server say your character is expired when it's not. Easy fix for this, set your clock up properly. (the one on the tool bar at the bottom left of the creen.)

ugh...didn't see that, just making a note though...it's not the time but the date that effects this (ex. 2005 instead of 2004.)

I was talking about someone like me. I don't think it's demeaning to myself, unless Chris Elliott referred to me as such, but if you feel I'm not capable of doing this that's fine - won't be the first time.

Now to go back and record the past three pages of tests on my local copy until Wathombe returns or someone takes over. Do I hear volunteers since I'm now out of the running?

I think we have an example of the major failing of Econversations: the inability to hear tone and see body language. And I don't think the emoticons are nuanced enough to fill the job. By the way, great way to continnue the metaphor, 'rican!

I think Ax said "cabin boy" with a smile on his face, not so much demeaning whoever might take it over as much as complimenting wathombe on just how hard his shoes will be to fill. This is how I interpreted it, anyway, especially given what I know of Ax from this forum.

But you are right, 'rican, that some may have interpreted it as a swipe at "wathombe jr." (wait - aren't we writing sr. off a little too quickly?). I think Ax should be duly punished in accordance with Forum Laws. I therefore move that we make Ax update and find a host for the spreadsheet. Do I hear a seconds?

As an aside - If anyone out west hears from wath, let us know if he's OK. If he's too busy with real life/GTA-SA/bad back/whatever to continue, that's cool, I'm just getting eeriely concerned. Doesn't seem like him to fall off the face of the Earth with out a push...

PS - Also, after talking with a few of the kids in the lab, they don't seem to have the same idea as I (and you may, 'Rican) about all of the services a young, fresh-faced cabin boy provided the captain on those long, lonely sea voyages...

I know that I am reluctant to test new permutations and I am sure that others are also.
My notion is that he found some new runewords and is making copies to sell on Ebay to recoup his expenses before we tell the world they are out there. :lol:
