23 Runeword Search Thread

ok now don't laugh, but I'm looking for help on navigating while doing tele-baal runs. Seems like everyone and their mother uses maphack, but I refuse to... and it can sometimes take painfully more time than I'd like to find the stairs to level 3 and the throne. Any tips?

Generally I tend to go to the right hand side of the wp, so if the exit of the wp is facing up, go right....if it faces down, go left. So on and so forth. This will allow you to find the stairs to three rather quickly....though the throne room tends to go either way.

The reason it's easier to find the stairs to three is that there are three main sections, the stairs up, down and the wp. For the throne room it can be to either side, above or below....all depends.

Just do it a lot. You start to notice patterns, just as in the Durance of Hate.

Don't know if the other post came through, but I started a mule account on East (RuSTMules) for non-socketed, non-runes to trade or take or whatever, since that sole mule filled up in a day or so. I'd rather not be the guy to inventory them for trading. Put a few items on already. Password is the same as the other mule account.

I dug deeper into the runes / chemical elements association. After some time, I could find an associated element for more than 25 of the runes ; some runes were obvious (eg Hel -> Helium) while other required some heavy extrapolation (eg Dol -> Gadolinium). This meant most runes had an associated two-letter symbol (a few with one letter) and a number between 2 and 101. The conclusion is simple : no matter how hard I tried, I could not see a pattern in a single existing runeword.

My conclusion is : although this theory seemed very attractive at first, I have now entirely rejected it.

Yesterday i looked up on my acc and my mules were permanent i thought it was because i played them for a bit and now i log on today and see that they are expired :rant:
Weird thing i can still play them what should i do?
I wanna take items off but no friend online what shoould i do?!? :scratch:
Sorry if its off topic but i creatde acc because i was following this topic (kinda to post results aswell which are coming but help plz!!)

If this is USeast scl: I have just opened a new account with two essentially empty permed mules. I/you could create others to hold your stuff while you get your account back in order. OK THATS IT NOW I'M REALLY MAD I JUST MADE A NEW MULE TO STORE ITEMS ON AND IT SAYS CHARACTER EXPIRED ASWELL, IS BLOODY BLIZZARD TRYING TO STEAL MY BEST ITEMS NO ROOM ON ANY PERMED CAHRS GRRRRRRR... :rant:

was this you i was trading with yesterday? There was somebody who bough 2io 4dol and a lum off me for a lem just wondering if it was you. I asked what the runes were for and they said they were testing with them.. Asked wut their sn was and they said pn..(i think) if this wasnt you then sorry for the waste of time (do you even play west scl?) I got a lem and hel outta the deal so not too bad ne way but if it was you i could give u the runes to test...

Just trying to clear me feeble mind of some confusion...

Sadly, the 4 newly released words (Duress, Wind, Splendor, and one that escapes me - they're on the AS) and the 23 activated-but-not-released words are Realm, Ladder only (guess that = "closed"?). Blizzard has not released an SP patch for these.

Pissed me off, too. That's why I came online, to join the hunt. Why don't you join us in the futility? Just hop on a realm, create a ladder character, and post the info here. I have met several really cool and helpful people, and I could even twink you with some lower lvl stuff (I'm a scrub) to get you started (IF you are on USeast scl - acct *DudSpud).

I'd like to know who suggested that Hell Countess was a good place to find runes, and that with a single player in the game, she drops more runes. I've done nearly 40 Hell Countess runs over the past two days, and the highest rune she dropped was Ith, and the most she dropped was two. Someone come here so I can punch them in the face! :)

If anyone needs Trang's armor on US East SCL, let me know. I haven't been able to trade it for runes, so I'll just donate it straight to the cause.

Edit: Ohhh, she dropped a Tal. ONE whole Tal! The only rune she dropped, too. Yippee. So anyway, I have a 2-os Battle Hammer and a 6-os Crystal Sword for anyone who wants to use them. I was going to try out something in the Sword, but I haven't gotten Wathombe's sheet in a month or so, and I have no clue what has been tried.

Either that or the election results. I do hope things are going well with him, we are sorely in need of an update on the spreadsheet!

Come to think of it, I haven't seen him on USWest even with the limited time I've spent there, nor did I see a weekly update from last week (though I could've forgotten and missed it). This doesn't sit well, I hope someone is at least in touch with him. I can take not having an updated test list for a while but can't not knowing if something is wrong.

Until we get a formal confirmation should someone (I have Yahoo space to spare since they upgraded my account to 100MEG) update it and keep a temporary copy online? Let me know if you're all throwing it on me ASAP since I'm currently listing inventory for all my ladder characters.
