yes, Dweomer has to do with magic and artifacts and magical properties and the like... one reference I can pass is from Dungeons and Dragons... the spell 'Analyze Dweomer' is designed to reveal all the magical properties of any item... I would say 'Dweomer' would either be a Hit Property tool, a caster tool, or a magic finder's tool... if it exists lol ;)
 
Sorry I haven't been able to keep up with you guys. Currently doing my take home exam which means I need to procrastinate of course. So I figured I'd check up on things here. Looks like the cow runs are going well. I'm only lvl 50 and don't get on much, but would be fun. I'm not sure what you have for gear Wathombe, but if you don't already have any crushing blow, that should really help out your kill speed on a zealot.

I have only got the East public Classic rusher up to lvl 12. Making a Blizzard/Meteor sorc. If anyone would like to play her let me know I'll send the account and pass info. Also sent it to Wathombe if I'm too slow in answering.

Anyway back to elucidating the signaling cascades of norepinephrine receptors.

Wow, productive night last night!

I've only got a brief minute right now; my wife and I are having a few friends over for the fight tonight, so we're busy. I hope to get on after the fight, though (usual time, 10 to midnight).

I was on vary late last night (after midnight) perming a mule on my new acct (got a laptop! 2 comps! 2 cdkeys!), and whispered Cheetah a bit at 1:00 am. You must have been just getting started with Cadogan and maybe Evilspork, too. You are the man. I hope you slept in! :thumbsup:

shaft, glad to see you come up for air. I do have that East classic rusher acct name; if anyone wants it, pm me. Incidentally, my Tesla's kill speed is okay in normal play, but cows on players 5-8, with so many of them, slows me down. Good tip, though, and I'll look for a spot for crushing blow (could I plug some into a socket? I'll have to look).

Got to play for a half hour and moved the Classic rusher all the way up to a whopping level 14. I forgot about all the improvements made on Xpac release. Didn't realize I used to play with only 8 hotkeys (and I thought this was great compared to the 4 of DI), a teeny tiny stash (again much better than the no stash gold taking up space in DI), no weapon switch and no merc maintenance. But its got its upsides. Seems like fewer cheaters so you can actually pick up items. I killed Andy in a group and actually picked up every item due to my lightning quick randomly click everywhere reflex developed from playing with a swarm of pickit users.

Wathombe, a good place for off weapon CB is gore riders or goblin toe boots. And if you haven't got that Cresent Moon runeword yet, you can use a stormlash unique scourge, or the Black runeword is a really cheap way to get 40% CB (being a tesladin you don't need to worry about weap dmg). I don't think you're going to want to socket for CB since that'll use up a lot of Ber's.

As a side note I'm stumped on a simple molecular biology problem. The question is "On a Northern blot, five mRNAs of different sizes are detected with a single probe. Describe three mechansism that could account for the existence of these multiple mRNAs." I can only come up with alternative splicing and homologous mRNA picked up as background. Any ideas?

Sorry I haven't been contributing to words. I have hit this wierd rune wall where countess only gives me EL EL El and a magic ring. Will post more as runes become available.

hey everybody. was just practicing nm cows and killin and ended up finding a sol, a few shaels, a dol, a hel, and just found a lum. not to mention hella flawless gems (enough to make 20+ pgems). i had a few pgems before and ended up selling the gems for another lum. plus found a pally combat gc hehe. i think i might be ready for hell cows for whoever else wants to join me, just whisper me
 
i'm in the process of creating a butt kickin *** whompin cow killa javazon because 2 reasons, a) nobody replied my post about needing someone with lightning to do FAST cow runs and b) i added everyone to the list from US East and nobody seems to be on, or maybe i'm on when other people aren't, so that's the current news, btw i did 152 countess runs so far this ladder, um is still the highest so far sadly,, very very sadly, i got a Dol today Whoop De Freaking Doo
 
Tlaloc - maybe it's just my own stupid superstition, but every Countess runner I ever had I'd try to take off as much mf as possible. I've found that the lower the mf, the better the quality of runes per run.

It doesn't, Magic Find has no effect one way or the other on Runes. The way that Drops work in Diablo is that the item class is selected first then chances are rolled for inferior/normal/superior/magic/rare/set/unique. Magic Find doesn't determine what item class drops and if one of the 17 Rune Classes is selected Magic Find has no effect on improving it.

I think I read up on how Rune Drops work, keep in mind this is going by my horrible memory and possible out-dated information.

But if a Monster drops "Rune" it takes the highest Rune Class that monster can drop, and begins to roll (for the sake of argument lets say the monster level 90 high enough for Zod). Thus it takes Rune Class 17 (Zod and Cham I think) and rolls. 99.9% of the time the class drops to 16, then 99.8% to 15, 99.7% to 14 and so on.


Whats good about countess is that she's guaranteed to drop runes 99% of the time, since Hell Countess can drop any rune Lo and bellow its just a matter of time before you hit it big. Its all about chance and good rolls.
 
Hephasto, if you can kill easily, is another good item/rune dropper... and the Council of Kurast are also decent for it(I've found 3 Los from them, 2 since 1.10... haven't yet got a character strong enough to do them easily on ladder... but because of all the high drop chances, runes come fairly regularly...

That's how it works, though I'm not sure your % are correct (they could actually, I really don't know for sure). Zod is the only rune in class 17 though, all the other being two per class. When a class is selected, you have some % chance it is one rune or the other (something like 40% and 60% I'd say, not sure again).

If anyone is interested, I've compiled (initially for personal use) a table of rune drop chances for the Countess and the Cows. This has been done using ATMA V, and refers to Hell difficulty, with one player in the game (for runes, you get around a 7.5% chance increase for each extra player). The format of these files is Word, but Wordpad can read it as well.
