Sweet Kelpie - gratz! You know, I've been picking up gold Polearms as I've been running Pindle, and only just recently snagged my first eth Battlebranch. I've never gotten an eth Hone in 1.09, but I have in 1.10+ (it may have dropped in 1.10a).

As an FYI, there's a growing glow in that 1.09 v 1.13 Fury Wolf project that has been dormant. I'm working on obtaining a nice 1.07 crafted Thresher to replace the Buriza that Alaric (my 1.09 Wolf) is currently using. I had gotten some Giant Threshers, but the reqs on those are prohibitive. Since 1.07 crafts get 3 sox, that would mean I could pop an Eth, a Shael, and a Ruby Jewel of Carnage into it for some serious pwnage. Quick question - did the Druid IAS tables change at all from 1.09 to 1.13? The reason I ask is that I know for a fact that my 1.13 Driud swings a Shael'd, upped Ribby faster than my 1.09 guy swings a Shael'd Buriza - since a Thresher with 50%IAS matches the speed of the Ribby, I'm betting that he will swing it faster.

BTW, found a 246%/7%ll Doombringer as part of my running Pindle - only my third and by far the best roll. Readout is over in the Pindlethon 6 thread.

While I still haven't gotten TEH WINDEH from PINDEH, I'm close to closing on the deal for that 1.07 crafted Thresher (229% ED, 30%IAS, 3 sox), so I'm wondering if I should go back and finish my 1.09 v 1.13 Fury Wolf comparison project (Pat both Druids). Maybe that would be enough of an offering to the D2 gods that I'd finally get my preccciouuussss. Anyone interested in reading up on the conclusion of the Fury Wolf project (including the relative performance of that Thresher to the Buriza)?

Also, is the 1.09 windeh significantly different from later windehs, or do you just want to use it for another comparison from 1.09 to 1.13 ;) ?

Teh Windeh is simply the hands-down most powerful weapon in the patch, and I want to experience a Windy Strafer before the BowaZon got nerfed. I can't even really think of a good comparison project for it because I've actually already experienced WF strafing in 1.13.

Just turned 68 with my Burizazon. Ghonna do baalruns (NM) until 70, then going into Hell.. I wonder if i should choose any other belt than razortail, the buriza has pierce as well..

Thank you for the quick response Robby! Doing pindleruns in hell on p2-settings. Queit fast even with no merc.. Did the 3chippie-reciepe with a myth sword.. 193% ed with 3s is really nice. Have you done much LK? I think it's really great like later patches.. At least a worthless "Pul" so far. :evil2:

I've done some LK in 1.09, but haven't really focused on it. Too much to fit in with my recent obsession with Pindle and my newly revitalized Druid project. Glad my FA tip helped with Pindle - the shattering effect really makes a difference, doesn't it?

Gratz on the nice chippie Mythical Sword! Have you put that to use yet? I'd get another sword and keep rolling chippies though - use that 193%ED in the meantime, but keep rolling another for that sweet 300%ED/40%IAS possibility (I had a couple roll Cruel of the Wraith - LOVE having on-weapon mana leech!).

Well, I dusted off GEIB_VEX as I was getting tired of running Pindle with level 99 chars (the loss of any XP benefit hurts), and since it's her specialty, I added Countess to the Pindle runs. Sure enough, after an Um and 2x Ist (lemme know if you want to see screenies), Countess casually drops another Vex Rune. Now, what to do with it? Make Silence in 1.09? Save it for 1.10s Bramble? (I already have 2 very good beta CtAs, so I don't think I need another, but the road to Bramble is loooooong). Make that quirky 1.10a HotO? (1.10a adds +1 to Blizzard - Sorc only, from what I've researched)

Thoughts?

My approach for any character is to just play the game through Normal on P8, and do some WSK/Baal runs on P8 once the char is a Slayer - the XP for that is HUGE - at the low/mid 40's (where my characters usually are at the end of Normal), I think I get a level every 2 runs.

He's already rushed and pat'ed in 1.07, around lvl 28 iirc. What about the build? I read that h'din kind of sucks, so I need a good weapon and just zeal away? Maybe h'din is good for p64 cows?

@nulio: I haven't really done a character like that. Did you take advantage of the lack of level requirements for Ancients rewards? Also, I haven't done a Hammerdin - I understand that the damage is 50% magic, 50% physical in 1.09, so it's possible that Might/Fana would benefit it notably. My only 1.09 Pally is a Fanatic Zealot with Conviction/Vengeance on switch (so able to deal with just about everything - including P8 Cows, but I can't speak to >P8) - I think you could do a Hammerdin/Zealot or Hammer/Veng since you will have skill points to spare. I think your level 28 guy could benefit from some Normal Tal Tombs, then Bloody Foothills, then Baal until about level 47, then the same process through NM. I would not suggest taking a pure Hammer to Cows, as I think he'll get knocked around pretty bad.

On to my plans - I'm looking at my Vex and 2 Ist runes, and some 6os Crusader and Hydra Bows (even one Superior Hydra Bow with 14%ED), and I've read an old guide on Zons that mentions a Silence Bow for a Frost Maiden, which also mentions that in 1.09 the Splash from Frozen Arrow leeches (I already knew that) and delivers CB (I did not know that). Since Silence provides so much Resists, I'm thinking of a Rig with CB from other sources (Gore Rider, Guil's Face, and maybe I start crafting gloves), and going the Pierce + Razortail approach to getting 100% pierce. If I slap on Tal's Armor for resists and MDR, I think the remaining resists can be managed with bling and charms.

Just a thought, since that freaking WF still eludes me.

Not a problem - the good thing with a 1.09 Pally is that, without synergies, you have enough points to do a little experimenting. For instance, on my Fanatic Zealot, I got Thorns to level 18 to test something I read in the patch notes - turned out not to work, but my Pally is still effective even with the wasted points.

Hmm i have some questions about Andariel in 1.09 (d). Are there mostly the same drops like 1.10+ ? I really had some poor drops with Mephisto and pindle in hell. Mostly nothing with 150mf.. Playing with my burizon lvl78.

There's no quest drop in 1.09 so she doesn't have any quest bugging, but technically Andy in 1.09 can drop better items than 1.10+ since she's a higher level in 1.09. 1.09 MF is generally much more spartan than 1.10+ though, due to (a) much fewer elite uniques available, and (b) lower baseline MF - 0MF in 1.10+ is equivalent to 100MF in 1.09.

What items are you pursuing?

@ Robby, i want the arreat for my new barb. Also skullder's and some ik-parts. I'm so tired of Mephisto. About the ik-parts.. I think i have done 1k runs on p2-settings. Almost only crap-drops..
