Final Fantasy Forum Mafia Game Thread

Gory, I actually kind of agree with you. I wonder if the mods ought to increase the post requirement simply because the game can't move forward if everyone is lurking. I understand RL issues of course, having gotten fried in games at least 50% of the time bc of them, but I feel like we are at a standstill. I understand the reluctance to claim, so perhaps someone can suggest something else? Randomly cast truth serum (jk). Cast hypnotize! (Jk). Look deeply into my eyes and tell me all your darkest secrets (waves hand around like the Amazing Jonathan).

If nothing else compelling comes along, I will switch my vote just so we get a lynch today. Otherwise, I'm sticking with my dear Valkyrie from the frozen north, flying out of the sky on a horse and issuing thunderbolts from Wotan himself (also joke, cribbing from Wagner here, don't read anything into that).
I've wondered about upping post counts too, but to what avail would that help? Those who lurk would just do several in a role or smthn like that.
You have to remember that this is a world-wide game. Stateside, the next several hours are typical working hours so expect limited postings. EU everyone should be about home and eating, and what nots, and I expect them to pick up in an hour or two, Those in the Asian side of the world who live below the equator are more than likely sleeping at this time, and unless they have the rare phenomenon known as "post-walking," they more than likely will be lurking at these hours ><

It's d2, and we're around post 450. This game hasn't lurked as hard as others. What's real bad is when there are 7 alive and 4 like to lurk. Those amount for slow days.

The conversation is staying on topic. Really, the only thing to do for those around is to post your thoughts, which is just about always the case ><

Look at that, I have 2+ posts for the day and have reached my safety net.

bye!

Too many players are acting like lurking scum. If they don't want to post substantively on their own, it's my job as townie (and yours, if you are townie) to get them to.

This changes nothing about my point. There are plenty of other ways to post substantively than to do a mass claim. Especially in a game where it has been made relatively clear that roles/jobs aren't necessarily indicative of alignments.

Goryani says not to vote for information only when you are sure someone is scum and the places votes with the words "feels right" and sandbags others for different opinions. I have stopped scum hunting because I'm voting not to get information but because I'm certain you're scum.

I made the decision to not claim before this game started. It's a meta call. I've talked about it before. Short version - I'm seeing if I can go a whole calendar year without claiming.

Yes, I really want to hear claims because most players (almost all) have so few posts about so few subjects/players it's impossible to have a townie feel. Too many players are acting like lurking scum. If they don't want to post substantively on their own, it's my job as townie (and yours, if you are townie) to get them to.

So why is it not correct for you to make your claim also? I'd understand it if you based it on your role this game, but can't understand basing it on a personal challenge you have. It can seriously harm town.

That said I believe you with that not-claiming-because-of-trying-to-not-claim-a-whole-year. It feels like that's just like other things you've done before, like deciding not to multiquote any longer.

How is it you both come to completely opposite conclusions?

Vote: Goryani

The entire situation with presses for claims while simultaneously refusing to claim just feels super suspicious. And scummy. And I'm more uncertain about moar, than I am about gory being scummy.

Come on people, it's day 3 with no lynches! 10 minutes for 2 more votes on Goryani.

If there is still nothing today, we need to start looking at the people not voting. Hard.

I've there's a politician out there, it really should have been announced in the thread. I did not understand at all that my vote was not counted.

**You awaken, in a daze, on the floor of the Highwind. Smells of burning wood, iron, and flesh besiege your senses, and your body is battered and bruised. As you come to, flashbacks of a blitzkrieg flood your mind, you are starting to piece it all together as the others come to: the Highwind was attacked! A company of airships, all flying the same colors, must have ambushed us during the flight back to the academy! You climb through the rubble, and see that a small camp has been established just beyond the wreckage. A few moogles tend to the wounded, but you can see several students did not survive the battle, or the ensuing crash. The General wanders about frantically, taking inventory over the survivors.**

General: "We lost too many. What have I allowed to happen?"

Deputy: "General, we need not worry about that this second. There will come time later to mourn our losses, but the priority right now is to gather those that remain, and get to safety. Those Red Wings may still be about! We need to make it back to the safety of the Academy. If we leave now, we should make it by nightfall."

**So the group gathers together, rallying for a second to say a prayer for those that have passed on, and the journey towards the Academy by foot begins...**

crawlingdeadman has died! 11 players remain, it takes 6 votes to lynch, 7 to lock!

I'll bite.
I'm cojuchemist. I have potions at my disposal to help fellow combatants out.

Fell over this post while rereading. FF experts - how likely is it that a chemist role would be in game, and is it possible that this role would have a poison ability?
