Gratz on your progress and those swords - I recommend Sheal Amn Eth in those, but you can mix it up. Keep rolling swords, though - you got some nice ones, but just look that the one Klonki rolled (top-end range Cruel OF QUICKNESS)!

My advice for Ancients... tank the leaper first! Then deal with the other two at your leisure.

I went back to an old e-mail you sent me when we talked about 3chips and you gave me your recommendations on what to craft and what runes to use. It paid off well!

I am curious, I can craft better swords? How high can I get the DPS up with the 3 chip recipe? (100-400?) Or is it standard for 80-175? I see some crazy uniques that have up to 900 DPS but like I said, I have no idea how high you can get it when its crafted?

I'll hit you up this week for a few other questions that I have.

Thanks for the Advice on the Ancients! I just killed Pindle. I decided I am going to run Pindle 10-20 times before I progress hopefully finding some decent loot. So I'm running cows with my Windforce Zon and Gunslinger Zon to get them to level 99 before starting on the tedious task of rushing for beta Bramble. With 2x Vex and 2x Gul in 1.09 and a Gul in 1.10a, I'm looking at rushing for 13 Gul runes. Well, Wendeh just shortened that road with a nice, Vexy rune from cows! Down to 11 Gul runes!

@ZeroAffex - you can roll up to 300% ED with Cruel, and "of Evisceration" can get you up to +63 max damage to boot. An IAS suffix will also increase damage by speeding up the attack. So I don't know exactly how that translates into DPS, but you can definitely roll better swords.

Crafting weapons suXXors in 1.09, but the absolute best swords you can get for 1.09 actually come from 1.07 crafts, which can be AWESOME. AND... Larzuk puts 3 sockets in crafts in 1.07. WoRG and Nulio have crafted me some very nice weapons for some of my 1.09 characters.

Thanks for updating us on your progress. Hope you hit the 99's soon haha Can you re-run Cows in 1.09? I tried to do it in NM and my laptop battery died a few minutes after entering. I didnt kill the king, I barely got through 1-2 mobs. I juiced it back up, logged in and my Wirt leg was gone but I also had no portal.. Very sad! I take it 1.09 you get 1 run because when you "save and exit" it kills your port? I dont know.

Also, thanks for the awesome info about 1.07 crafting and 1.09 Cruel swords sub affixes. Id keep working on them but at this time I am extremely low on chippies and even more so on gold, down to 100K. Times are tough. Might need to play 1.07 just so I can get 3 Socket items. Wish people stilled played on the older patches so I could do some trading for cool stuff like that, Nullio is the only one I know of who still does but when I tried to get some stuff for my barb from him, he was pretty tapped out. He was very generous though and gave me some free damage charms and a few resist all charms. Not many people play D2 now and even less play 1.10 below. Just means I'll have to play 1.07 haha

Hey guys,

I got my first Pat 15 minutes ago! I will be making a thread for him and will have my readouts, ect. Real fast want to shout out to RobbyD for gear help, advice and motivation to keep going. Also, to Nullio for the game changing Resist All/Damage Charms, they made things alittle smoother at the end. Thanks to everyone else who plays 1.09 to keep this strange but fun patch alive, to enthrall people like myself to step out of the norm and try something new! If not for you guys, I would have never even considered time-traveling, so big thanks.

Look for my Pat thread here in the next week, got a busy schedule next few days, so wont be able to attack it til this weekend. Oh and I am FAR from done with my barb, I am taking him to lvl 99. So got lots farming to do and hardships ahead.

Pictures below: (3-4 are same. Sorry) I sucked it up and turned it to P1, killed the Ancients, took lots of purple juice to kill Talic the WhirlWind ancient, he basically was near insta-killing me this time around. I could take 1-2 hits and thank god for "Frezy"s movement speed bonus, because if I couldn't move out the way when he starts whirling, id be a goner! Made my way through WSK, nearly died to Suicide Minions (Hell Spawns) exploding, super hurty bastards. I made sure to bring LOTS of purple juice, so I made it through to the Throne Room. After going through lots of PI Stygerian Fury's and the big Bull head looking guys, cant remember their names, I made it to the front Ball. It took a bit of time to dispose of his minions, especially the last ones the spawned! I had to lure them away and kill them 1 at a time. I quickly portaled, used my last 50K to revive my Merc (have less than 5K gold now.. and need repairs), healed up and entered after Baal. It took seconds litterally and he died.. Super depressing how weak he was compared to Ancients/Minions! And thats it! My first Pat!

Edit; If you look in picture 2 where I disposed of Baal's minions, you see the unique heavy belt. Guess what? Its my 2nd Ethernal Goldwrap! This game is mocking me so bad. I am uber, uber.. UBER desperate for MF gear/charms and I get 2 Ethernal Goldwraps! Irritating for sure! Thats just the laws of the Diablo Universe at its best.. Never gives you what you need, and if it does, it turns out to be Ethernal or something. Haha

Gratz ZeroAffex! Thanks for the nod, but it was you that did the work! Don't work about the eth Goldwraps - you'll get a proper one soon enough! Quick hint - getting 2x Blade of Ali Baba (EthShael on each) on kill switch will do more for your MF than any piece of armor.

Working on getting my WF and LF Zons to level 99 (got them to 98 the other night), Wendeh got this drop from a random cow. That's only my third ever Schaefer's Hammer, and by far the best roll at 128% ED.

One other drop of note was this Crimson Jewel of Thunder, which I really wish I had when I was socketing Wendeh's Shocking Bow. I do think this would be a very nice jewel for a Lightsabre.

Look forward to seeing your characters hit 99! Gotta say, nice Hammer! What build would you use that weapon with though? I am curious. Looking at that photo of Cows and the amount of goodies dropped, makes me want to stop running Mephy now lol Thanks for sharing your progress, pretty cool stuff. Oh and that Lightning Jewel is FREAKIN EPIC, least from what Ive seen so far in 1.09. Congratulations bro.

Thanks, ZeroAffex. I now have 4 characters at level 98: my WF Zon, my LF Zon, my Nova Sorc, and my Schaeferdin (btw, that's what I did with the first Schaefer's Hammer I found... made a Fana Zealot). I'll prolly get all those to 99 before I start working toward the Bramble and Novamancer.

Pro Tip (nod to SQU): Stick with Mephy and Countess for the S/Us and runes they can drop... the rate of really awesome stuff from Pindle and Cows is very low in comparison.

Picked up HC classic again recently;

- Another deeds, clvl 85 Nova Sorc died in cow level due to BO expiring and failing, oops!
- My Martel WW barb reached clvl 90 after slaying many Urdars on the RoF. Exp is slowing down and if I were to stick to RoF clvl 90-91 would take me somewhere around 28-30 hours I believe. CS is still slower without MP though.
- Leveled up another Barb solely for Meph running found a few useful things here and there but nothing mindblowing
- MF Sorc went from 74 to nearly 85 doing just p3 Izual runs but he's been very stingy with Martels.

A cutie I met on the RoF while leveling Martel barb to 90

How did you have BO, are you playing with someone else, or just using a 3rd party software to run multiple instances of D2? Just curious

I finally found Bonesnap in Classic Hardcore, so I started a WW barb using Sigon's helm and belt, Bonesnap, Bloodfist, some rare boots with 3x fire res 3x light res with fhr and half freeze duration (love them). He also wears a 4% ml amulet, cathan's ring and a 3%ll/72AR IIRC (I'm at work so I can't really look at my gear to make sure of the values)

He's level 38 now.

Then I decided I'd play some Softcore Classic, and remade my barb, who was good, but too slow at doing Chaos runs.
He's already level 71 wearing some pretty decent gear I'd say. My previous barb was using Iratha's, which I thought was a must back then, but it's really not.

I also gambled a REALLY nice ring yesterday:

Amulet: Rare with; 1 Barb skills, 6 Str, 30 Fire res, 6% mana leech, some random mods
Weapon: Rare Naga: 135% ED, 10 Max Damage, 40% IAS, 201 AR (the IAS is nice when I use Concentrate)
Armor: Twitchthroe
Shield: Tower Shield with 3 Perfect Diamonds
Gloves: Bloodfist, trying to find 3%ml, 3%ll with life and resists
Belt: Sigon's
Rings: 5% life leech/72 AR and the rare ring I described earlier
Boots: Goblin Toe for the Crushing Blow.

SO, working on getting my Zons to level 99 (and I'll get my Schaeferdin and Nova Sorc there), I like to take a break and run some Countess to break up the monotony and see if I can't shorten the rune road to that beta Bramble.

Well, sure enough, GIEB_VEX struck again, bringing my total of unused 1.09 Vex runes to 4. Also, she got this belt and these boots in a single drop.

So, 4x Vex, 2x Gul, 5x Mal, 4x Um (+ 1x Gul in 1.10a), 24x Pul - I think I'm only 4 Gul runes away from beta Bramble!

I did some more Hell CS runs @ P8 with my Softcore Classic Barb, leveled him up to 76. The experience from monsters almost drops by half, from 75. It is still relatively quick exp. and levels. When the River of Flames has no Blood Maggots and no Grotesques, I do River of Flame as well as CS, which is decent XP. Once it RoF will give better overall Exp than CS, I'll do RoF only I believe.

Whenever I find a white Gothic bow I imbue it, hoping for a decent bow that will allow my Amazon to finish the game.

I also decided to do at least one run with my highest level char every day, until it reaches 99. Right now it is my Expansion softcore Sorceress, named Fall. She's currently level 88 (more than half way to 89).


@RobbyD, nice belt! And congrats for your 4th Vex!!!

What's the difference between beta Bramble and the current Bramble? I believe beta means 1.10s?
